We purchased this to hang above our pool table. Even though the light doesn't exactly hang as low as I'd like, due to the vaulted ceiling, I think it still looks pretty cool. We added Edison bulbs and it isn't as blinding for shooting pool now. It is a very heavy light due to the big ball that acts as the counter balance between the pulleys. We are enjoying the looks of it, and for our use, it works very well.

We finally found a light fixture for over our kitchen island, that fit the space. This is out 3rd fixture in the last 2 years because nothing ever looked right. But this pulley pendant from Home Depot was 100% perfect in looks. The light that it gives off is great and we have the fixture on a Lutron dimmer switch that we also got from Home Depot. I will say that it wasn't the easiest fixture to hang - simply because of its size. But if you have 2 people, one to take the weight off while the other makes the connections, it's much easier. BTW: This finish is beautiful and it looks like it will be wasy to clean.

Wow. Beautiful pendant light at a very affordable price. It is very well made and the finish is gorgeous. You won’t be disappointed.
*It is definitely a statement piece. It has an industrial look that can also be combined with farmhouse style.
*It is very heavy (weight ball) so it definitely needs to be attached to a 2x4. If you don’t remove the weight ball before installation then you will need a helper to help with the installation.
*the weight ball works as a balance and you can move either the light fixture up or down to your liking.
*this fixture would also go great above a pool table.
I would definitely look into other light fixtures made by this brand since they are well made and very affordable.
Love my pendant light and the vibe it gave to my kitchen.

What a GREAT looking lamp and CONVERSATION piece!
My wife suggested it would be great to install over a pool table but I don't have one. She said, "never mind then..."
But its going to look awesome over my vintage Lionel train layout! HA!
I thought I would mention a few things I came across as I was about to install this lamp.
1. Its HEAVY and awkward, especially trying to lift it over one's head and start the anchors and screws!
I suggest removing the pulleys where indicated and thereby releasing the weighted ball. I see that the ball is essentially riveted in place and possibly the manufacturer might want to use a threaded rod and screw in the future to more easily remove the weight.
2. Secondly, I would not advise using a clamp-on electrical box but to use an electrical box that is screwed to a 2 x 4 or use a braced box as pictured below. I find this type makes it a bit more easier to install.
3. Also use the additional anchors and screws provided to better affix the lamp to the ceiling.
One other observation... the lines used to adjust the height of the lamp are the actual electrical wires and there is nothing phony about this lamp.
I'm proud and excited to have this unusual lamp!

I am putting this over a smallish island for 2 reasons . One it will highlight the island and 2 because it is about the same length make it a focal point. I love it is adjustable. It is old timey looking with the pulley but the metal lights are very modern . It is a different light yet when you look at it you think I have seen that before. Love the silver finish also. Will work perfectly too over a seating area. But I think it is a kitchen light primarily.
