A: We recommend using an adhesive that can be used on polyurethane material.
A: It is recommended to use a polyurethane adhesive to glue this medallion.
A: Liquid nails or Powergrab. I personally like powergrab as it holds in seconds. I have used both though
A: We ran out of liquid nails, so we used caulking that we had. It is super light weight so we didn’t have an issue with it.
A: Yes, My canopy is also 5.5 But it sits on the outside of the medallion not inside it. I personally like the look on the outside. It really does not expand for 5.5 You would have to cut it for the canopy to fit inside it. You can cut them, its not hard to do. Just need to be careful and have full control of your blade
A: The center opening is 4", it does not expand. Medallion opening can be enlarged to fit around a canopy by carefully using a sharp knife.
A: You can however, you may run into different connection issues. As I learned, Not all parts to lighting are standard each company especially ones made in other parts of the world. Have different amounts of screw lines. So they maybe the same 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch but they may not screw into each other. So I ended up using my over 5" canopy on top of my medallion and not inside it. Everyone comments about it, I never say anything when people walk in they just start talking about the beautiful lighting and medallion. I never ask for compliments, I wait to see if I get them. And I do!
A: Hello, you would have to check with the manufacture of the chandelier. If it is a Westinghouse Lighting fixture call our consumer line and speak with one of our techs. 888-417-6222
A: The center opening is 4 inches and I would not recommend trying to make the hole bigger. If the chandelier cap is to large it will not sit properly on top of the medallion.
A: I rested it on medallion. I did not cut center hole wider. An extension pipe in electrical box was used to give me more pipe to screw chandelier cover/cap to. Purchased pipe at Homedepot.
