Questions & Answers

I am looking for a smaller, lighter generator for a home backup for a refrigerator and sump pump ...

Asked by Robert September 6, 2020

It depends on the power consumption of your refrigerator and sump pump, and the other equipments you want to run at the same time. If you run everything at a time and not all at once, this generator should do the trick. I hooked up a 1500 W Porter heat gun to test it and it handled it without any problems. I bought it as a backup for my sailboat, but I know I could easily run a couple of household items for emergency. But for that, I have a 13KW tri-fuel generator for the house backup. The iPro 2500 has a peak output of 2500 W and a running output of around 2000 W, it might be just fine if the sum of 2 of your components doesn’t exceed this wattage, in case you need to run 2 items at a time. I hope this helps!

How do i daisy chain 2 of these together?

Asked by Bill August 24, 2020

From what I read, iPro2500 is not parallel capable. The iGen’s seem to be though.

Other than the color, what is the difference between the iPro2500 and the iGen2500?

Asked by Dave August 4, 2020

The GFCI plugIn IGen2500 are not GFCI So needs to be grounded

Will this power a full-size refrigerator, a 7 cubit feet freezer and a few small things?

Asked by CoolC August 2, 2020

The iPro2500 will be able to power your refrigerator and freezer with ease as well as a small few items. Please be sure to double check the power specifications of your desired items to ensure it falls within the 2500 starting watts and 2200 running watts of your generator.

Asked by dick June 29, 2020

Yes, the iPro2500 has automatic overload protection which will shut the engine down when it pulls over the wattage.

Does the IGen and IPro have fuel pumps. In order to have an extended run extra fuel tank they nee...

Asked by MN November 29, 2018

Looks to be total gravity feed to the carburetor. I have another large gen. that backs up a home. I was able to connect a 5 gal gas can, siphon, and then connect to its carb. This one is very tight inside, but not totally impossible...

Can you use gasoline with 10% ethanol without causing damage to the generator?

Asked by pappy20 November 24, 2018

I should have added that (to drain the carb.) the screw/hose is under the side-panel that you normally remove to check/add/drain the engine oil. Specifically, it's at the bottom of the float bowl of the carb. If you're not familiar, ask anyone that knows small engines.

Is the pro series 2500 parallel capable with the IGen 2200?

Asked by MN November 14, 2018

From what I've read, I believe it is, as long as you're using their cord.

If we run 2 units in tandem can there be a single output and could this have a 40amp load capacity??

Asked by Sal September 24, 2018

I doubt it because my single unit put out less than 15.

I see that, I do not see the run time or the fuel level like on the Westinghouse igen 2500.

Asked by Rocket May 30, 2018

There is no run time or fuel level on the iPro2500.

Powerful and compact
I bought the iGen2500 a week ago for Hurricane season in Florida. We will be using it to power a portable AC unit and some home electronics when the power goes out.

Great choice
Just did the break-in and testing and this is by far the easiest generator to operate. 1st pull start. And by far the quietest. Added a run hour meter, which is the only feature lacking. Great buy.

Works Great
I bought this inverter generator a week ago for power backup. It was selected for its power rate (2200W continuous), quiet operation and light weight, and with Westinghouse's good bland name. Today, I did the first trial run and was very happy with the result. After doing the steps per Operation Manual, the engine started after 4 pulls. Let it run for a few minutes and then connected it to some loads. It ran quietly even at full load. I switched on the Efficiency Mode and could tell the engine rpm changing with the load which was also shown on LED Display. I am confident the generator will help us to do necessary things when power outage happens.
