A metal rack in a microwave?! Yup!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I love this microwave. It’s many functions are perfect and really pretty standard as far as microwaves go. Now something that I have never has is a rack system in a microwave. It’s a cool feature and kinda mind blowing for those of us that grew up with “NEVER put metal in a micro wave. It will spark and cause a fire!” Well this one comes complete with a metal rack that I’m sure is specially crafted to work inside a microwave. I would still however, er on the side of not introducing metal objects to this unit.

Cheap plastic garbage
Only 5 years old and the handle broke and came off the door, when trying to reattach found several cracked and broken pieces internally. Don’t waste your money.

USED to love it
For some reason, my microwave digital face goes haywire. I have not had the time to call the company. Less than two years old and we constantly have to unplug it and plug it back in.

My new Microwave

Nice looking.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the lowest cost microwave from whirlpool with the smudge resistant finish. It is easy to operate and has plenty of space. Pay to have it vented outside if possible with your setup. This will cut down on cooking smells lingering. It vents close to your upper cabinet if you leave it at factory configuration. You will have to wipe the doors and fronts of the cabinet above the microwave routinely.

Good microwave.. not a perfect vent seal
Had to replace our previous whirlpool range hood microwave, whose plastic door broke down with repeated kid slamming. This was a good repalcement. Paid a litlte more to get the beefy handle, but it looks like it has identical internal door mechanics. Hope it holds up. The only complaint I have is that the top/roof vent coupler plate has become much cheaper than the identical unit from 15yrs ago. The new vent fan cover, instead of being a separate metal sheet that locks onto the top of the microwave, is now stamped out of the same steel chassis.. and is "bent" up to reorient hte fan-vent module, and then BENT back into place. But it never sits flat. (see photos/video) so you have to use aluminum ducting take to seal it.. otherwise, it will never have a solid seal.

Love this microwave!
