30 in. Gas Cooktop in Stainless Steel with 5 Burners and EZ-2-LIFT Hinged Cast-Iron Grates

Though not stated, Burner Base pieces cannot be put in dishwasher. They turned from a shiny mirror finish to an ugly dark grey. Whirlpool has developed cheap products that can't be cleaned by their own dishwasher. Replacement costs are a sin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased 5 burner cooktop with griddle. Cooks very well and can generate plenty of heat with the center burner. My only complaint is the knobs that feel flimsy and are a cheap plastic. I used a medium sized pot on the front burner and slightly melted one of the knobs. I have replaced the knobs with heavy duty metal knobs.

Cooktop is very nice and works well. The only issue is the right control knob can melt when using the front burner on high. Had to use pliers to turn off the burner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a house as a new build and it came with new Whirlpool appliances. This has been my favorite of all the products. The Whirlpool 30-inch Cooktop with EZ-2-Lift Hinged Cast-Iron Grates is my favorite cooktop that I’ve ever used. While it does have a couple minor design issues that could be improved, it’s made in a way that’s easy to clean and that is a huge improvement over other cooktops I’ve used. The couple minor design flaws in my mind are that the knobs are too sensitive and the grates are slightly too long. The knobs click the igniter much more easily than any other stove I’ve ever used. When I go to clean the stovetop (after almost every use) it’s annoying to hear so much clicking. I wish they were less sensitive. The other minor design flaw is that the grates are so long that you have to hold them up while cleaning because they hit the bottom of the microwave above. Perhaps this was an installation flaw made by the builder, or perhaps if you’re buying this stovetop that’s something to consider when installing the microwave. I purchased the griddle that’s designed to sit on top of the grates. I found it in the user manual when reading about the product. I would highly recommend this as a gift for whoever does the cooking in your house. It works great and is a fantastic addition to this cooktop. I’m very happy with this cooktop and I’d highly recommend it. Even the design flaws I’d take over a scratched up stainless steel surface - which has been a problem with previous cooktops that I’ve owned. The grates were designed in a way that they are easy to remove for cleaning and also don’t scratch up the surface. It’s my favorite cooktop I’ve ever used. With a couple improvements it would be flawless.
