Questions & Answers

can all the burners be adjusted to simmer food?

Asked by: yakman
NO definately not! Both front burners are large and powerful. Even on low they burn/boil. You will have to use the back burners for simmering.

Does this come with the stove top griddle/skillet for the middle burner?

Store display had middle griddle/skillet displayed on the range, but ours was just delivered without it

Any problems reported with the oven and the fan?

I have heard that there are problems with the oven and the fan with this particular model of range?
Asked by: shoneyburg
YES!! My oven randomly shuts off during cooking. No fun to find cold oven and cold food inside! Service has been out numerous times and can't fix it, they said they have seen a lot of problems with these ranges. I'll be calling tomorrow to demand a new one since I just found Easter dinner ruined! After an hour, food was cold, oven had turned off. I hate this oven....been so many problems...do not buy!

How are the 5 burners arranged?

Are the large ones in the front or back? Is there a picture of the top to clarify?
Asked by: LM
Two large powerful burners are in the front, mid size in the middle and small in the back. I wish they would have put one strong one in the back because they big ones are so strong all you can do is boil on them...so I'm mostly cooking on the back which is harder to reach

5.8 cu. ft. Slide-In Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 372.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Range F8E0 Error Got this new in Nov 2016, may have baked less then 10 times. Now it give an error "F8E0" cooling speed too low. Now I cannot bake. I bought all new appliance from Whirlpool and now regretting this. It is up to Whirlpool to see how they fix this problem and if I will stay a Whirlpool customer or switch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but trouble. I bought this range 4 months ago and it worked great for a month. Then when my wife went to bake something, the oven flashed a message saying that the fan speed was too low and it refused to turn on. I have spent the past 3 months trying to get Whirlpool to fix it with no success. I have spent dozens of hours on the phone and several days off work waiting for appliance repair men who never show and never call. Meanwhile I have an expensive piece of "art" sitting where a working stove should go. Now I must admit, it IS pretty, but if you want a stove that works, I recommend that you buy another brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from what had happened was Ive had mine a year. I dont use it much. It looks good, works well and last night gave me that fe08 message or whatever it is while i was preheating. I hit cancel I waited and tried again I got stressed out Then i scooted itbout and unplugged for a few minuted and plugged it back in. So far thats the end of that issue. Oh yes, and my bottom drawer doesnt shut all the way, but then again, i never adjusted the feet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware Although I purchased this range before there were many long-term reviews available, I'm now noticing a trend: the cooling fan for the front control panel is VERY prone to malfunction time and time again. It began happening to our unit just 5 months after purchase (we got the ominous F8EO error code). Service via the Whirlpool warranty is relatively easy and hassle free, but I have a feeling this issue will recur even after the fan is replaced, given the other reviews I've read. If I could go back, I would have purchased the slightly more expensive Samsung package with the front-control slide in range - I've never had an issue with a Samsung appliance and have owned them for over ten years! Is this what we get when we purchase things heavily marketed as American made? Yikes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed and frustrated This is a handsome range with features available on most comparably priced ranges. We waited for 4 months for delivery and then the bottom drawer did not close properly. After the service department said "that's the best we can do" and the drawer still did not close properly, HD replaced the range. This was after 6 months of service call after service call. On December 28th of 2015 the replacement was delivered. Today, February 22, 2016, the oven will not go on. An error code in the temperature control screen says the cooling speed is too low, contact service. We paid $1,700 for this range and have had nothing but trouble. Also, after the drawer situation I examined the quality of bottom drawers of other rangiest be much more sturdy. Perhaps this one is a Lemon, but based on my experience, I would look elsewhere before purchasing this item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Whirlpool WEG730H0DB0 is OK, but... This Whirlpool WEG730H0DB0 slide-in range arrived complete and on-time. The general parts quality was average. The oven vent component was poorly painted at the factory and may have to be replaced or repaired (photo attached). The range top did not have flanged sides exposing excessive spaces at the counter ends. It is built more like a free-standing unit rather than slide-in. The top burner grate spacing could have been more dense to better accommodate small pots. The upward-facing controls and clock are vulnerable to grease spatter and spills. I would rather have front facing controls. Otherwise the new range functioned correctly, cooks, bakes, and broils well, and does have some operating features that should save significant energy costs over my old range. I would recommend the product but it could use improvement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Oven The oven seems to cook very evenly. We bought a house with this new oven already installed. It has been very nice to use and we have had few issues. There are a few items to note: 1) The first time it is used, it let off extra heat and/or smoke and set off the alarm. 2) it puts out a decent amount of heat during every use of the oven through the vent. 3) Don't drop anything down the vent, which is easy to do, because you can't get it back without disassembling the top of the oven. Its great looking and way better than an electric oven in my opinion, but could be improved. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
