AnswersYou would need to do three things: (1) Cut the rear part of the cabinet top cut-out closer to the backsplash so that the range won't stick so far out past the front of the cabinet. (2) Cut out the cabinet kick panel near the floor so the range can slide in. (3) The slide-in range most likely hard-wired to the 220 V supply cable. This range can be hard wired (leave 2 - 3 feet of slack to allow the range to be moved out for service) or you can install a wall socket and power cable plug. I chose the latter, and had it done by an electrician.

AnswersYes. The cooktop is a heat resistant ceramic material. However, it can be damaged by slamming pots or other hard objects down onto it with excessive force. You don't have to baby it; just be a bit more careful than with an old-fashioned coil range.

I’ve had this stove for 2 1/2 years, kitchen was remodeled with this whirlpool electric range and a stainless steel fridge. Both look great in our kitchen, and the stove is easy to use. Two big issues have been the finish and the knobs of this stove. Within the first 3-4months of ownership, the metal trim began peeling off which was when I learned it was plastic. Most recently, two knobs on the right side of the stove broke, specifically the hole that connects directly to the stove for temperature control, and have to be replaced. It is very surprising This happened, especially since the left side tends to get the most use. It leads me to question the rest of the stove and to prepare for any additional potential headaches. We bought this range about three years ago. The top control panel appears to be made of stainless steel. It is plastic and it peels. CHEAP!
The glass of the control panel is plastic and scratches easily. CHEAP!
The black paint of the control panel looses its luster and peels. CHEAP!
If I had to buy it again, I am not sure I would....
We have had other ranges that looked newer that this one, and they were over 20 years old.

The reason I gave only 2 stars, it broke within 3 month and I had to pay some part which was not my fault. It was totally manufacture defect: some kind of a power cord had burnt and the oven went out first then the top range too. We bought 3 year warranty from HD but it didnt start until after the manufacture warranty pass. i paid $35 today for the stupid cord(It wasn't suppose to be a maintenance one because it's been only 3 month.) Hard to believe the major appliance broke in 3 month and I had to pay for the part.
And the service tech was not on time. Had to waited for ah hour and half without any notice. But he was good at fixing it though. Wish they have a better system to contact the repair sub company.

Unfortunately, nothing happened, it is a shame to have trusted a brand and do not have any responsibility with the same situation of some buyers factory damage.
I invite you to look for reviews of other major stores and they will observe the same situation with other buyers.

I had my kitchen redone about 2.5 years ago. We decided to purchase Whirlpool appliances. One of the appliances was this range. It required service 2x within a few months of owning it for the hinges
that were not supporting the door properly. Though this appliance had alot of the great features, Glass Top w. 5 elements, Convection Oven, Large Capacity; I'm very displeased with it and Whirlpool's quality. The current issues are the scratching of the main control panel, chipped porcelain inside the oven, the use of the Aqualift cleaning function; this does not work. I am very disappointed, of the 4 new appliances 3 of them have been serviced and it's only been 2.5 years.
