how can I remove the plastic part in the tray of the freezer compartment so that the tray space is not divided?

Asked by paul December 5, 2014

I do not believe that the middle divider is meant to be removed. It is designed to be in the freezer to help with organization. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool home appliance.

Can this refrigerator be ordered in Bisque?

Asked by James June 11, 2014
1
Answer

James, This refrigerator is not available in bisque. There are very few appliances anymore that are available in this color. I am not aware of any bottom freezer or french door refrigerators that are available in bisque. We do manufacturer a SxS and a couple of Top Freezer refrigerators in that color. Below are a couple of the model numbers for you to review. You can place them in the search bar on HD.com to pull up the product page. The refrigerator generates ice every three hours. What happens to the ice if it's not used? Does the ice maker have to be hooked up?

Asked by Dee March 3, 2014
2
Answers

Diana, The ice maker does make ice every 3 hours, but there is a sensor. If the ice bucket is full, then the ice maker will not product ice until ice is taken out and below the sensor. The ice maker does not have to be hooked up in order for the refrigerator to function, but does have to be hooked up for ice production. Thank you for viewing this Maytag bottom freezer refrigeration.

What is the height from floor to top of fridge?

Asked by betty October 1, 2013
1
Answer

betty, The specs that you have listed are both correct. The 68.5" is the height to the top of the cabinet minus the door hinges. The 69.84" height includes the door hinges. These two heights are important if a customer is going to put the refrigerator into some type of cabinetry or there is something above the appliance. Thank you for viewing this Whirlpool refrigerator.

So roomy and convenient!
I bought this for my kitchen remodel to replace an old side-by-side. I didn't want a French door refrigerator because of the expense, so I chose this as it was considerably less expensive than a French door fridge. I'm very happy with this fridge. It provides a huge amount of storage and the pull-out drawer freezer is so convenient. And it looks so classy and upscale.

I've always wanted a bottom freezer...
This was the only brand that I could find without French doors. We have a small space, but needed a large regrig. The freezer on the bottom is a very nice way to go...it has a wired bottom, so if you drop an ice cube, it goes to the floor instead of digging to find it. The only problem with the refrig, the upper part, not the freezer, is keeping it cold enough, without hitting freezing. It has a number system to pick your temp (exp 1-7), versuses a knob to turn, so I haven't found a happly setting, yet, even though we've had it close to 2 mos. The ice cube maker is loud, but except for when it drops the cubes, you can tune it out. The filtered, to filter the water before it makes cubes, is fantastic. With our last refrig, we could only make cubes a few days before we were going to have guests and hope they weren't too picky. If I could design a refrig myself, I would make a few changes...but there are a lot of options to choose where you want your shelves to be to fit your items. The only option you do not have is where to put your cold bins...ie fruits and veggies (and for us, cheese and lunch meat). One of the biggest reasons that we bought this version, is that it comes in white. Most everyone else carries steel. I'd rather go to those bad colors in the 60's, than have steel.

Good value for the money
This is a solid, efficient unit. It has many standard features and promises to use little electricity for operation. It is quite noisy. The unit is very attractive except for the very ugly screws on the front of the door. I know those are the holes for the alternate door handle but there must be a better way to cover the holes then to stick these large phillips head screws in them.

10 years going strong
I bought this about 10 years ago when I bought my house. I love the features, the size. I have had no issues with it at all.

Ice forms at bottom of freezer
First noticed a puddle on the floor a year ago. Later found ice forming at the bottom of the freezer, so maybe that ice melting is the source of the puddles. Came back after vacation recently to find that I couldn't open the freezer door because of so much ice.

Loved it but not now!
The freezer has been forming ice on the bottom. I did not notice and it leaked onto my kitchen floor. I have interlocking laminate so basically the floor under my refrigerator is raised now. As I read the review of other people they seem to have the same problem why has Whirlpool not addressed the issue. This refrigerator receive great reviews from Customer Reviews that why I bought it but now I just don't think it was worth the money.

Ice In Freezer
I bought this Whirlpool Gold Bottom Freezer Refrigerator several years ago when I purchased my home. Lately there has been ice accumulating in the freezer that sometimes makes it impossible to open the freezer door. I am now worried that I will have water leaking out from the freezer onto my kitchen floor as several others do. This unit is supposed to be frost free. Very unhappy. :(

Refrigerator Door Seal Inadequately Sized/Engineer
The door seal does not properly overlap the refrigerator opening at the top. If the door is not centered properly from top to bottom it adds to the problem. The door has no adjustments to overcome the issue, such as slotted hardware for adjustments. The issue shows with puddling of water in the front of the refrigerator bottom, caused by condensation of the air leak into the refrig due to improper seal. The seal should have been manufactured with a greater width, at least another 1/4 to 3/8th inch and then this top corner gap could have been prevented. There is more than enough seal width at the bottom.
