Once it is installed, how far will the dishwasher handle stick out from the cabinet? (I know the handle goes 3 inches beyond the door....how much does the door go beyond the cabinet or will it be flush?)
Asked by: Elizabeth
Its flush and the handle is pretty low profile overall, you might not notice it.

How do top controls work? Do you set them before you close the door?

Asked by: Cat
Yes, push the top bottons and close the door. If you add something you have to push the start button again. It will beep at you

Top Control Built-In Tall Tub Dishwasher in Black with Sensor Cycle, 51 dBA is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 779.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made & Worst Dishwasher we’ve owned We bought it new from Home Depot and have had nothing but problems with it. Within 4 months the pump went bad and we had to fight whirlpool to replace it. They finally replaced it and within another month the new pump went bad as well. Whirlpool finally agreed to send us a replacement dishwasher which took almost another month. The second dishwasher was ok for about 5 months, then something in the circuit board went bad and we received another replacement dishwasher. The newest one hasn’t gone bad yet, but everything on it is falling apart. The drawer slides have bowed, the clips that adjust the height of the racks have broken and so the racks are cockeyed, the silverware tray has a broken latch, the rollers on the racks are broken, the filter basket cracked. It’s not like we have been hard on this dishwasher, the plastic seems to be some inferior grade that cant stand up to normal everyday use. Our previous dishwasher was a Maytag that we had for 15 years before it finally went bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy at all. I bought it around October of last year. I always loved Whirlpool but this dish... Not happy at all. I bought it around October of last year. I always loved Whirlpool but this dishwasher is really made cheap. What a disappointment. It is a cheaper plastic and the racks are not very sturdy, very hard to change the height of the rack. If plates are not placed accurately does not clean. If there is even a little food on the plate does not clean at all. Even if you use the best cleaning cycle which takes about 3 hours does not clean. The bottom water spinner is very cheap does not turn as well gets stuck easily. Even tried not overloading the dishwasher does not clean. I wish I went with the stainless steel tub maybe that would have been better. But my old Kenmore was plastic but it was made great. Changing the up and down rack was a breeze so upset. I even used a 1 hr cycle and it worked perfect. The plates, cups, and even the pots were clean. This one I have to clean by hand most of the big items because the spinner gets stuck. Very upset and regretful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice at first... We purchased this dishwasher from sears in 2016 with the store extended warranty. It worked OK for the first 2 years, not the greatest cleaning job but not the worst. After 2 years, it stopped cleaning. At first it was intermittent. Or it would start the wash cycle but never finish. Eventually, the machine would turn on and the cycles would click but the water would never run. When we had it serviced we were originally told it was that the filter was stuck to high causing the arms to not spin. The filter was replaced, still didn't work. Then we were told it was the control panel. They replaced that, still no help. Finally we were told it was the motor and in July 2018 it was replaced. It worked OK until this week. The new motor didn't even last a year. It took me almost 10 pushes of the start button to get my green light to finally come on, about 3 or 4 more pushes to finally get some water to run (however the cycle never started) and another 4-5 holds of the cancel button before the inch or two of water that did make it in the washer to finally drain out. Highly disappointed with the whole experience. Glad I wasted $600 to have to go buy a new machine 3 years later.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from bought a whirlpool dishwasher as a second choice because a bosch wouldn't fit the opening. secon... bought a whirlpool dishwasher as a second choice because a bosch wouldn't fit the opening. second choice was between a whirlpool and a samsung. made a bad choice with the whirlpool. oh yeah, it washes and dries the dishes.... so far, but the quality of the construction is poor. there is a plastic vent on the front of the dishwasher and the white door finish above the vent bubbled and rusted. it wasn't finished on the inside i guess and that gave the rust a place to start. this is in a winter florida residence that is used less than 6 months a year so by the time we noticed it, the 1 year warranty was up. when whirlpool was contacted they said there was nothing they could do. the warranty was up and we didn't purchase an extended warranty. for a relatively new dishwasher, it looks terrible. spend the money. get a bosch. better built, more energy efficient and quieter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance A+ We purchased this dishwasher 6 weeks ago and chose the white as we will be converting appliances to the beautiful glossy white Whirlpool appliances. (Just purchased the beautiful side by side refrigerator, also. Let me say, we purchased an expensive, well known brand for our other home and was less than happy with it's performance. This time, we opted for this model which was $400 less. I initially set the dishwasher to the 1 hour cycle to check performance, without heated drying, or any other added item. I was pleasantly surprised that I need NO OTHER setting - just the 1 hour wash!! The dishes were fully clean, 99% dried, and done in one hour. I like to unload while dishes are still warm, and if needed, I dry the tops of any cups or glasses, but only if needed. The dishwasher is extremely quiet and it is at times difficult to hear it running. The options for wash and dry are plenty, and much more than we need. We are on unsoftened, township water and could not be happier with this purchase. We also love the control panel on top which allows you time, in a countdown form, to set your wash and close the door to begin (the top control panel is hidden). I am so glad I did not insist on a stainless interior as this gem is a better machine than my BOSCH!!! I would add a photo, but our remodel is not completed as yet. We are in love!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and Efficient! The GE dishwasher we purchased when we bought our home died after a year. We had a repair person look at it and nothing could really be done that made sense with how much it was going to be to repair versus just buying a new dishwasher. Costco had a great deal on a sleek looking Whirlpool and so we decided to purchase. It was such a great decision. The Whirlpool is so quiet. I cannot even hear it washing. All my dishes come out sparkling clean and there is enough space for all my dishes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good We bought this dishwasher because it was in stock when our old dishwasher broke about 2 weeks ago. It's taking some getting used to but it gets the dishes very clean and that's what we bought it for. The racks when they slide in and out are very clunky and come across cheaply made but doesn't effect cleaning. The utensils area on the door is super frustrating at loading and unloading but that's a personal preference. Overall not bad, does the job, lots of options for cycles. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not thrilled Although I haven't had my dishwasher long, I am not exactly impressed. I am trying different features such as heat dry, sanitize, etc to get better results. The dishes are not sparkling clean as I would expect with a new dishwasher. The glasses are spotted even though I use jet dry. The top water want hits in the back which I suspect to be part of the problem. The utensil rack on the door is awkward to load and doesn't achieve the best results.
