Questions & Answers

Does the shoe rack flop or bang against the door when you open and close it?

Asked by: Rosie
No, it does not flop. The weight of the shoe keeps it stable.

It appears that it will. Mine is 1,5” and there is room left.

Is there a way to secure this without hanging it over the door?

Is there a way to secure this without hanging it over the door?
Asked by: Katie
One would have to cut the piece of U-shaped hardware that hangs over the door. The frame itself hangs on two of these metal clips. One would have to drill holes through the metal and attach it to the door that way. However, the rack is heavy when it is loaded with shoes and I do not know that method of attachment would actually support the weight of the rack. On the other hand, one could cut off the part of the metal that is visible from the room side of the closet door and leave the part that goes on to the top of the door. That way the hardware would still hang from the top of the door. (But it would not be visible.) One would drill a hole in the metal so that one could put vertical screws through this hardware into the top of the door. The question then is this, "Is there enough clearance between the top of the door and the top jam to allow for that screw." You would probably need a 1/4 inch clearance to make this work.

Does the level fold up and down for taller shoes?

Does the level fold up and down for taller shoes?
Asked by: Gimchee
Yes, each bar can be raised or lowered. With knee high boots you will loose two bars of storage. Since the boot height covers that much vertical space unless you put the boots on the top bar of rack.
