Do I need to drain anything if I don't use the humidifier option?

Asked by Ali June 13, 2020

Answers

The air conditioner uses the patented auto drain or self-evaporative technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments. Please note that if the humidity is very high, the auto drain function will still exhaust the majority of the moisture. The remaining moisture will be collected in the water tank at the base of the air conditioner and continue to self-evaporate until the tank becomes full and requires manual drainage.<br><br> Our Consumer Support Team is available Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM PST at 1-866-WHYNTER (1-866-949-6837) and at support@whynter.com should you have additional questions.

Since windows come in different sizes, some customization may be needed when installing the accessories. If the included panel with the hose cut outs is too long to fit in your window or door opening, most customers cut the panel to size. The panel can be cut down to a minimum of 16"; we recommend making sure not to cut into the hose cutouts or screw holes. <br><br> Our Consumer Support Team is available Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM PST at 1-866-WHYNTER (1-866-949-6837) and at support@whynter.com should you have additional questions.

What does dual hose mean and how does it work and get hooked up?

Asked by Joe June 5, 2020
1
Answer

Dual hose portable air conditioners include an air intake hose and an air exhaust hose. The air intake hose pulls air into the air conditioner from the outside to help cool the compressor and condenser coil. The compressed hot air from the room is then exhausted through the exhaust hose.<br><br> Operationally, a dual hose portable air conditioner has two main advantages over a single hose unit; it can help cool a room faster and help minimize negative air pressure. <br><br> If the outside temperature is much higher or more humid than the room, the intake hose can be covered with the included cover and it will function like a single hose unit.<br><br> Our Consumer Support Team is available Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM PST at 1-866-WHYNTER (1-866-949-6837) and at support@whynter.com should you have additional questions.

The included window kit is designed to fit most standard vertically or horizontally sliding windows and measures, 6.5" W x 20" L (minimum), 46" (maximum). <br><br> Since windows come in different sizes, some customization may be needed when installing the accessories. If the included solid window kit slide bar panels do not completely cover your window or door opening, most customers purchase an additional window kit and use both sets. Alternately, a customized longer solid slide bar panel can be made by cutting Plexiglas or PVC plastic to size to be used with the panel with the hose cut outs of the original window kit.<br><br> Our Consumer Support Team is available Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM PST at 1-866-WHYNTER (1-866-949-6837) and at support@whynter.com should you have additional questions.

Works great in my upstairs large studio and even keeps the two adjacent guest bedrooms cool. I generally turn it on in the morning when the studio is cool, setting the fan on high and temp. at 71-72 degrees. At end of day temperature in upstairs area is about 75 degrees, which is comfortable: This temperature, is influenced by an open stairway where we have hotter air from lower level raise up to the upper floor. We are very happy with this unit and highly recommend it for dry climate at 5,500 ft. elevation where average day is about 90 degrees Firenhart.

We All Love it - Pets Included!
Great air conditioner. The dual pipes make for excellent cooling - and the self evaporating design feature is so great - no more emptying out buckets of water! - our kitty cats sit in front of it all day long, as shown in the video link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qH6wqVTdXU

So happy and cool!!!
I purchased 2 units the first week of May when they were on a special buy. Have one in each bedroom and they keep my whole 980 sq ft apartment at around 70-72 degrees and it’s over 90 degrees out side. I couldn’t be more happy. I did wrap the exhaust hose with an insulated duct wrap as I saw online to help the unit work more efficiently. The exhaust hose will put off a lot of heat if you don’t.

The two hose design eliminates negative pressure draw of air from through walls amd cracks. The unit is large enough to cool my 460 sqft 2 car garage as a makeshift apartment used by a friend. The two hoses are mounted into the attic door and are wrapped in insulation. The volume of the dual hose design circulating air, even from the hot attic space, is sufficient for allowing the unit to both cool and dehumidy the entire garage very well. Excellent reduction of both noise and energy consumption in comparison to the single hose design unit I was using before. Great product.

I bought this to run off my generator if the power goes out. Also to run in the garage when working there in the summer. I was happy that this unit is not very loud. I liked it so well that I got one for my parents. It is short enough to fit below their window nicely. The dual hose if the way to go to get much better efficiency. I tested this out in the garage and it works great. The hoses can easily adjusted in length up to 9 feet.

Overall it's a great product for the money, cools well easy to operate and I like the energy saving features , one issue the instruction manual is very vague concerning operation of the drainage /condensation features of the unit so I was left to troubleshoot and said these functions up myself .

Home Depot had this product on sale for about $100 off and I could not pass it up. I work nights and need a cool, dark bedroom during the day that is secluded from the wife/kids. I use this product in an upstairs bedroom where I sleep - this room is generally much warmer than the downstairs portion of the house. The product worked well during our unseasonably extended warm winter in CA. It's a little noisy, but that's to be expected. I took the advice of some other users of this product and outfitted the exhaust hose with an insulation sleeve. I also have this air conditioner sitting on an elevated surface due to the limited length of the hoses. The overall setup was easy. I used the extenders on the window kit due to the size of my window. I also applied some weather stripping over the seams of the window kit. Hoping for outstanding performance during the summer!
