60W Equivalent A19 Colors and Tunable White Wi-Fi Connected Smart LED Light Bulb

These are really cool bulbs. You can adjust both the brightness and the color of them, and I didn't have to add any special switches or any kind of Smart Device hub - they connect directly to Wi-fi. Of course, this also assumes you are going to install them within range of your Wi-fi network, which wasn't a problem for me. Setup was fairly painful - I suspect you might get a better experience from a more well-known brand. I had to try three or four times pairing the light using the app on my phone before the light was recognized and added to my account. Most of the time it would just error out and say it couldn't find any devices, despite the fact that I had very strong Wi-fi signal. There are some pretty cool features here - you can control how fast the light comes on when you switch it on, how long it takes to go off, and what brightness and color it starts at when you turn it on. You can have it come on at the last settings or pick a specific setting. It also has a nifty feature where if you turn it on, then off, then on again quickly, it can come up under a different theme. That's pretty nice to be able to do without even using a smart device app. The compatibility with various smart device platforms is pretty great - this light works with Google, Alexa (Amazon Echo), IFTTT, and several other vendors I had never heard of. For me IFTTT is the ticket, since that's the only platform I have found that makes it easy to controls things based on sunset or sunrise. The built-in app lets you set time-of-day schedules, but nothing based on sunrise or sunset. The lights are quite heavy compared to a normal bulb, so be careful not to drop them on a hard surface.

The smaller of the WIZ bulbs, this 60W A19 white light plus color bulb really makes the staircase to my basement bar a real WOW moment! Some nights, I like to set the color to "Sunset" setting and make the whole hallway and staircase feel like the soft glow of a sunset at the beach. Setup was super easy! I removed the existing can lights and screwed in the new WIZ light. They aren't much heavier than the existing lights, something that you may think would be an issue. Have no worries, they're fine to install into an existing recessed ceiling can. Once screwed in, I was able to follow the simple setup instructions. I slowly, but steadily, turned on and off the light switch 3 times, until the bulb was softly glowing. Once it entered that mode, I was able to load the App and change the Zone, Name and color pattern to the bulb. Boom! That easy! The bulb is build extremely well, the color options are insane! I think you need to get a few of these for your house! You can see from my picture that it is set to the "Sunset" preset. I love that I can also tell my Alexa App to turn on/off the zones that I setup. I have 2 zones currently, 1 for the staircase and 1 for my bar lights. This tech is REALLY AWESOME!

Smart bulbs are really central to any home automation and Wiz bulb's price/performance made them exactly what we needed to complete our setup. We installed many smart hub controlled outlets and switches, but that still left a lot of table and floor lamps out of the automation plan. Adding controlled outlets to that many lights would have been too cumbersome as there would likely be room changes that would make us use these outlets for other purposes. We really hadn't considered smart bulbs seriously, until we saw how feature rich these were and how flexible their use can be These Wiz bulbs are roughly the size and shape of conventional standard-base bulbs, but weigh a lot more (6.1 oz.). These are screwed into any 120 VAC fixture that is not controlled by a dimmer. Although they can be controlled using a separately sold remote without WiFi, you really do want to hook this into your home network. To do so, you need to pair them with your home WiFi and download and install the Wiz App on your phone or tablet. This will also allow you to control the devices with voice-activated devices like Google Home or Alexa, or with selected smart hubs and cool automation apps like IFTTT (If This Then That). Setup starts with installing the Wiz App. Next, set up your location, then add rooms/groups to it. Bulbs, which can be named, can later be added into these groups to allow collections of devices to be controlled collectively To setup a new bulb in the app requires “pairing”, a process that is activated by turning the bulb on and off 3 times quickly. If your light is hooked into a switched ceiling fixture or outlet, this is a piece of cake, but not as easy if you have to quickly plug-in and unplug the lamp cord 3 times. Either way, it’s doable. Look for the lamp to turn blue to indicate that it is in pairing mode. You must stop cycling on-off exactly on a multiple of three. Once paired you name the bulb so you can apply different treatments to it than the other Wiz bulbs you set up. You can then incorporate it into groups to allow it to be controlled collectively with other bulbs a common scene The Wiz app makes controlling these bulbs simple and fast. The app provides a wide array of capabilities with which to control it. Colors? 16 million. Control the Kelvin of the Whites? 64,000 shades. Dimming – of course, but only using the app or remote. The Wiz App has a great collection of named pre-established colors including some special ones like Fireplace that alternate colors in real-time. Schedules can also be created at the group/room level and at the individual device level. If you want to use a Smart hub to control these, check the compatibility list – there are some that are compatible, but definitely not all, including some big names. It can also be controlled by some of the major voice activated smart controllers like Amazon's Echo and Google Home. It is also compatible with the IFTTT (If This Then That) app. These integrations provide a truly impressive set of capabilities to allow the bulb to react to other devices' events and to work together in automated routines, working as part of a series of actions to create pre-defined scenes or settings. All of these integration apps let you create your own routines, which is really cool. These bulbs, coupled with the excellent apps and creative thinking that went into their use, are truly impressive. The HD price is really good compared to other vendors. We’ve found these bulbs to be just as capable, if not more so , than more expensive competing brands. The Wiz app is very useful and its UI is as also just as good, if not better that competing bulbs. We really liked hooking this into IFTTT and our voice assistant as well. We highly recommend these for anyone installing a Home Automation capability

The WIZ app: If you are getting "Please connect to WiFi" over and over. Try turning OFF BLUETOOTH despite the app advising to turn it on. With the slight exception of the issue above which took me about 30 minutes to figure out WHY the app would not connect to my WiFi, causing me to go over my router settings, phone settings over and over, this light is extremely easy to install and use. The app is straightforward and easy to choose whatever color, colors, pulse etc you are after. The standard whites and brighter colors such as yellows are bright and clear, very nice! The darker colors aren't as powerful in brightness, but they still illuminate nicely. The bulb is much heavier than I expected. Solid, sturdy. Afraid it is bragging a tad on all the colors it can produce however, the standard colors of the rainbow it does and well. This is a wonderful light and app. Love it!

The light looks great and has an amazing set of features. You can control the brightness, color of the light (it supports 16 million colors) and set schedules to turn on / off. With the app you can save 4 different favorite settings for quick access. You can also turn the bulb on and off using the wall switch or the switch built into your lamp. Set up was easy. Download and install the Wiz app on your phone and it will walk you through the whole process in under 5 minutes. I installed mine in the lamp next to the bed. No more fumbling around in the middle of the night to turn on the light. Just a quick command to Alexa and the light is on.

very hard to setup! instructions are simple, process is simple, but I had to go through it dozens of times to get them to setup. I was 15 away from router, and 10 inches away from my phone, so that was not the issue.

My girls absolutely love theirs. They love all the color possibilities and being able to voice control it.
