Is there a model where the inflow and outflow is set up on the right side versus the left side?

Asked by Paul April 28, 2020

Answer

I’m not sure if they offer one already set up that way. You could possibly rotate each fitting 180 degrees and make it a right hand model. If you were to do this you would probably want to loosen the fittings first, than add some thread sealer to it before turning the fittings to the alignment you need.

How am I know my size 1 or 3/4".

You need to check the size of then supply pipe and the outlet. If the pipe coming into the valve or leaving the valve is 3/4" then you only need a 3/4" vacuum breaker. If the line on both sides is 1" then and if your sprinkler valves and distribution pipes are all 1" then you will benefit from a 1" valve because a 3/4" valve will restrict the flow.

can you reduce the inlet and outlet sides down 3/4 inch pipe

Yes you can - but it's probably cheaper to just but one that is made for 3/4" pipe - you don't gain anything by using a 1" vacuum breaker on a 3/4" line.

easy install
I purchased this PVBV to replace one that was leaking. The original was in use 24 years. Since evetything was connected with PVC, I had to but the pipe from the bottom and then unscrew the valve. I then replaced the valve and secured the new PVC pipe thread end cap, attached a new piece of PVC pipe and a PVC coupler to attach to the lower pipe. I used waterroof blue pvc cement and let it dry for three hours before turning the water on to test it
