Once you convert the furnace from natural gas to propane gas using the model # LP-347 LP conversion kit, and the gas pressure is adjusted properly by a certified technician, you will not see a drop in the output BTU and efficiency.
The 2-stage furnace offers the variable speed DC blower motor which enhances dehumidification, and increased SEER ratings for your A/C system due to low power usage. In addition, because of the way the 2-stage furnace operates, you will have a more even comfort level throughout your home as well as a low sound level during the heating cycle. The majority of the time the furnace should operate in the first stage which is at about 40% of the capacity so the longer heating cycle gives a more consistent temperature throughout the home. Only on the coldest days, or when the thermostat is not satisfied after a certain amount of time will the furnace kick-in to the second stage to complete the call for heat. In terms of the most critical parts of the basic installation, the venting and condensate piping, both are the same for the furnaces. We would like to get more details about your application to assist with equipment sizing as there are more things to consider such as geographic location, and ceiling height(s). Please give us a call at 800-879-0123.
Input BTU is the sizing, and Percentage is the efficiency.
