What is the dimension between bracket mounting holes?

Asked by CampGuy September 4, 2020

Answer

The hole spacing to mount the foot bracket is 4” wide by 6” long.

Can I add an extension onto this (up to 5') or would the stresses be too great?

It would depend on the weight and wind load of what you are mounting. I would not recommend adding on more length then trying to mount a dish on top or any decent TV antenna. Using a tripod mount might be a better option. Again it all depends on the weight and windload.

Unfortunately it doesn't let me see a part number of the item. They make at least 2 different lengths. Of this type mount, both work well for the small dishes, or smaller fm and TV antennas. Larger antennas need more support. Make sure you have a good sealer to go between it and the mounting surface. Check around for the longer and shorter mounts. I have one of each but I don't know off hand the lengths.

This Universal Pipe Tower mount is to mount home TV antennas to a house using a standard 1.25 inch steel mast, which is not include and must be ordered separately. This product works fine for this purpose. The Winegard MS-2000 or MS-2002 HDTV outdoor home antennas will work with the additional mast section just great with the universal tower mount. Your question might not pertain to this product. You present some confusing information. A "pipe of a satellite dish frame" is too general. The Winegard RS-3000 RoadStar is a RV antenna with a flange style mount to be installed directly to the surface of a RV. If your trying to kludge something then you are on your own. Good luck.

Used for a Personal Weather Station
The company that I bought my $300 Personal Weather Station wanted $50 + $25 shipping for virtually the same product. Glad I found this at Home Depot!!

Sturdy
I bought this to mount on the gable/peak of my home. I'm installing an OTA (over the air) antenna. The OTA antenna mounting hole is too small for this pipe mount. So, I've gone to the home improvement store and purchased about $3 worth of plastic electric pipe & fittings to make it work. View the pictures to see my modification. I have a 4' section of conduit, a coupler, and a cap. Simply glue the plastic pieces together and the cap fits snugly down into the metal pipe tower. In the pic where I show the parts assembled, realize that I haven't pressed & glued the pieces together yet, and the cap will get pressed down about 4 more inches into the pipe tower. I plan to cut the 4' piece down to reduce flexing of the pipe during windy conditions. Otherwise, it should work just fine.

It needs the adaptor pipe for inserting into the antenna and the pipe itself. The pipe being an odd size makes it hard to find the proper pipe to fit with the antenna
