This pair of shears is not the type that you are going to use everyday to cut things with. While the blades are extremely sharp, and do a great job cutting through cardboard and other thick materials with easy, the handles are poorly designed and just down right uncomfortable to use, leaving indents in the back of your thumb over time. These could have been a great pair of scissors if someone would have actually tried the handles out before approving the design.

Great tools for lefties can be hard to come by. These are sharp, have a nice grip, cut nicely, and seem likely to hold up in the long-term. Always great to purchase items made in the USA, and these fit the bill. Lifetime warranty is another great feature. Choosing tools that will last a lifetime is a important goal of mine, so these shears have many features that will fit that priority.

These left hand shears are heavy duty. The blades are sharp enough to cut carpet. They also work well on paper and cloth. The hand grips are a molded plastic that is smooth and comfortable for my hand. The blades seem to be stainless steel so they should last a long time and no rust. I like the offset blades, it makes it easier to cut thick or heavy materials.

Being a leftie, I was really excited to get my hands on a quality-made pair of left-handed sissors and the Wiss 10" offset didn't disappoint. I've had other left-handed sissors before but couldn't never get a smooth edge because the blades were so different. The Wiss modell's, offset handle, however, allows for cut clearance and more precise cuts. The grips are extremely comfortable and ergonomically designed exactly for left-handers and the titanium-coated blades are strong for smooth cutting . I plan to keep mine and buy more as Christmas presents for my left-handed family members.

Upon opening the package, these are definitely heavy duty shears. While admiring them my wife's attention diverted from her laptop to what I was holding in my hand. She is a prolific seamstress, currently making a capote (heavy wool coat) in the style that fur traders wore in the 17 and 18 hundreds.
Advance several minutes and she is subjecting them to an intense test on a thick 6 point wool blanket. Then on some lighter fabrics, finally she holds up a flimsy tissue and cleanly cuts it into small stripes. Now grinning from ear to ear she generously offers to store them in her sewing room.
Later she informed me that they are truly left hand shears and not just right hand shears with left hand handles. Something to do with blade orientation and Shear angle.
Final thought, this is definitely a great product. I'm now thinking of several articles of clothing I could use. As for recommending this product, my wife also gives it 5 stars.

Very sturdy and well made product with large holes for your fingers. My husbands large arthritic hands have trouble fitting into and using some scissors. The large openings and their off set positioning make it easy for him to use while still allowing just as easy of use for me - a much appreciated attribute not often found. We were easily able to trim some indoor / outdoor carpet that was needed for a project . The sheers remained sharp throughout this project and still easily cut cloth and other materials, thick & thin.
