Made from durable cast aluminum, the jig features 9 pre-aligned hole guides that make measuring and marking the hole a thing of the past. Each hole guide features a hardened steel bushing, giving the jig a long service life. Innovative clamp system allows boards being joined to be drilled simultaneously.

AnswersYou don't (unless you manipulate the jig by adding a shim or spacer(s). The 1/4" is set slightly above center for 1/2" to about 3/4" stock, the 5/16"is about center and the 3/8" is slightly below center for the larger stock.

AnswerDear Customer, Thank you for your inquiry. The M6 threaded dowel barrel nut is usually 10mm in diameter and the closest dowel size in the jig is 3/8” which is slightly small (roughly 0.5mm). Pretty decent dowel jig. Provides adequate clamping force. I would have preferred knobs that provide better leverage to tighten, but that nit-picking. I have seen other models that are 5 to 10 times the price. I’m not a pro, but I can’t what’s else you need other than this one. I have gotten excellent well, centered holes to make my edge joints.

This dowel jig is a great value and works well with all joints but, with all carpentry, it takes patience and precision. If done right, you will get great, strong joints. I used it on a shelf which came out great. I plan to use this jig on many future projects, it will come in handy. It comes with a clamp, the jig, depth collars and dowels (1/4", 5/16", 3/8" x 20 each). The directions contain pictures but the procedures can still be a bit difficult to follow.
Before using this jig, I highly recommend testing it on scraps before using it on a wood project. For the pictures attached to this review, I took them while testing it with 5/8"-3/4" thick scraps doing the three joints it performs: edge-to-edge, edge-to-surface (t-butt) and edge-to-corner. The test/experiment helped me understand how to use it properly. I find edge to edge and edge to corner dowel joints very easy to do while the t-butt joints can be difficult as you need to line the jig up perfectly with your guide line. The jig has markers built in for this. All clamps are strong. 5 Stars.

Good accuracy with 3/4” hardwood, 1/2” ply not as much, but ply is not as solid, this was not surprising. Not self centering like some, It is designed with a standard offset from face of stock.

Was working with other doweling jigs and was getting into difficulty keeping the drill straight, and not wobbling like crazy. This jig really helped. Now it isn't magic. The jig is not super stiff. So if you expect to tighten it like crazy and clamp the living daylights out of everything and drill instantly, it won't bet suitable. But with a little patience, I got very decent results. If used with a little finesse, highly recommended.
