If I spray this on a covered deck, how long do I have to wait before the deck can be walked on? I guess I'm looking for drying time?
Asked by: Eric
Happy to help, Eric! Because temperatures and humidity fluctuate, allow a minimum 24 hours before using deck, porch, or outdoor furniture, and 72 hours before returning furniture to deck/porch floor after applying Rust-Oleum Wolman RainCoat Clear Water Repellent. Avoid dragging furniture across surface. On newly stained surfaces, allow 7 days for coating to cure before washing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works great but Home Depot not so much. They beat me out of my rebate. Product works great but Home Depot not so much. They beat me out of my rebate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent coverage, price Used a pad with pole extender, got 350 sqft per gallon. Price per gal. in stores was $30, this is only $20/gal. Easy cleanup with mineral spirits. Causes rain to bead up and sun doesn't fade the wood. Dries fast too. Enough left over to re-coat again in 2 years on a 1000 sqft deck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just One Coat We applied a second coat on our deck over a week ago and it is still tacky to the touch. One coat is enough. If you're looking for a product that brightens the wood, this is not the one. This product absorbs to let wood gray naturally, so you won't notice a change until water hits it and it beads up. Good protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I priced water sealers all over the internet from $69.00 all the way up to $250.00 for 5 gallons. I figured this product was a good middle ground. I wanted a petroleum based product, not a water based product. I read all the reviews I could find and bought 2 5 gallon containers. This is really good stuff. It sprayed on beautifully using a 1 gal garden sprayer. Even though it was clear it darkened my cypress fence just a tad and left it a beautiful golden color. Soaked into the wood nicely and was dry to the touch in late afternoon. I used both containers and plan on getting another one for touch-ups. My garden sprayer easily cleaned up with gasoline, which is a lot cheaper than mineral spirits. A final rinse with hot soapy water and it was good as new. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use I researched the available products for sealing outdoor wood structures with the intention of protecting my wood deck railings from the harsh south Mississippi sun. I'm convinced the RainCoat product is the best available and I trust Rust Oleum products from years of successful use of their paints. This sealer sprayed on easily and clean up was a breeze. I used it on both some new wood and some three year old previously unsealed wood. The new wood was good after one coat. The older wood soaked up the sealer as fast as I could spray it on. I waited a week and hit that wood again. After the next rain all wood surfaces were beading the water. I'm very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good quality at an exceptional price. I was surprised to find this product for about 70% of the price at my local paint store. There was such a big difference in price that I contacted Rustoleum, who own the Wolman's brand. Rustoleum assured me that it was the exact same product available through Home Depot. For my project, I saved about $90.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much easier to apply than I expected. I poured the sealer off into a two gallon gas can for ease of use, and used a brush and small roller to coat an 8X30 pine deck. It dried to touch in under 4 hours and was read for traffic in 24 hours. Although the label doesn't specify stirring, Rustoleum, the manufacturer, recommends stirring before use, especially in cooler weather. Water beads up like crazy now, and only time will tell how well this lasts down here in the hot Florida sun and brutal summer rain storms. I highly recommend this product for easy of application and simplicity of clean up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wood fence sealer This sealer went on easily with a garden sprayer. It's fool proof to apply. No runs show up no matter how messy it is applied. I just applied it in June so I don't know how long it will last but it seems to have really soaked into the wood. It dries clear but brought out the natural grain in the wood. It was a little pricey but you get what you pay for. j
