Q:Is this brush good for water-based polyurethane/finish ?

Rusted after cleaning
I bought this brush based on the good reviews about a week ago and used only once for cut in. After cleaning with water, I notice rust has developed along the edge of the metal part and the wooden handle is getting discolored due to something black coming out from the ferrule. Only used white paint ( regal select eggshell) so have no idea where the black discoloring comes from. I own many quality brushes and this is the only one getting rusted after just one usage.

We hate to hear you had a negative experience with the Wooster Pro Nylon/Polyester brush. This is a professional grade brush made with durable materials. You should be able to clean and use this brush for multiple projects. We never recommend soaking a brush for an extended period of time as this can lead to rust, or soaking in mineral spirits. We recommend a good rising and cleaning with hand soap. Our cleaning tips can be seen in the information and guides section of all Wooster items on dot com. We also are happy to send it to you. Last & Best paint brush you will ever buy!!!!
This brush is by far the best paint brush you will ever need! In the past, I have always purchased disposable and inexpensive brushes. Once you have had the opportunity to paint with a Wooster brush, you will never go back! The brush cleans very easy & gives you the capability of painting extremely tight lines. This brush makes cutting in a piece of cake!! The packaging of the brush is good & makes storing the brush easy & keeps the bristles straight!!

My New Favorite Brush!
I've been putting off painting a second topcoat on an outbuilding I put up last Fall. I barely got a coat of primer and one coat of paint on it before it got too cold, and had to hurry at that. Now it is almost Fall again, so, I got this brush and got started. I used this one single brush for trim and all. I normally don't do raving reviews on any product, but I loved this brush. Not ONE bristle came off while painting. It painted small, narrow, wide, trim, and large surfaces beautifully, with no over-splash. It cleaned up beautifully. I'm very impressed and I think if I had a project that I had to start from base wood, had to prime and whatnot, I would buy a couple different sizes. But, for what I was doing this one brush was sufficient. I now have a new favorite brush. If you can only afford one brush, buy this one. You won't be sorry.
