AnswersUnknown. We used this to pry up deck planks that were nailed into a single joist. A deck plank is a 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 and is attached with 2 or 4 nails in a concentrated area. Plywood is considerably wider and is secured with more nails on more joists.

I bought a less expensive similar product and it began to bend and disfigure after only about five boards. Bought this Bad Boy and pulled up 109 eighteen foot deck boards with no problem and still looks brand new. It even pulled up the occasional repaired boards that had been screwed in. The only thing easier would be to hire someone to do the work for you.

Saves labor and your back!!
Had to redeck a swim dock on table Rock lake 16'x24'. First day me and one guy tore off 1/3 of it tops, using hammer and every pry bar we owned big and small. Went home backs hurting. Looked online went to store and bought 2 of these bad boys the next morning. 2hours in the other 2/3 done ready to be decked back off. What I thought was going to be a long job and cold being December turned into me bidding on two more docks.

This wrecking claw was perfect for the job of removing an old deck that formerly surrounded a pool in my backyard. The tool is very heavy duty but also manageable to get the job done without exhaustion. Shipping and packaging was top notch as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone doing a demolition job.

I needed a tool that would help me disassemble wooden pallets without tearing up the slats or my back and do so within a reasonable timeframe. This tool is great for this. I would highly recommend it. My suggestion to Home Depot is to carry this in your store rather than have to order it.

I was unable to get traction with it (senior citizen,)...
I was unable to get traction with it (senior citizen,) but the young man who helps with my yard work found it more effective than a crowbar in removing old deckboards. However, most of the boards split lengthwise due to rotten areas, and the ends of the wrecking claw were too thick to grip and remove the old nails.
