Q:How many threads per inch (TPI) is the drain?
    by|Nov 30, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  I am not sure the exact TPI but can tell you it matches up with the 1-1/2 Poly Drain pipe fittings but doesn't match up so well with standard 1-1/2 PVC threads. It will start on the PVC female fitting, for instance, but will not fully seat.

          Best soaking tub!
My plumber and contractor were impressed with the quality and I loved it. It is very deep and gorgeous. I don’t know if it was designed to hold heat but it keeps my bath water warmer than any tub I have had in the past. I highly recommmed!

weak material/ worst Wyndham customer service
My contractor installed this tub few months ago. So easy to have cracks and chips. I barely use the bathtub, and there is no kid. So weak material. I ask to Wyndham to have a sealant or any chemicals to seal the cracks and a chip, because the bathroom tiles and shower doors are done. Do not want to go over all the construction headaches. I contacted Wyndham customer service, and they want to send closeup photos, far away, receipts, etc. 7 emails. Nothing!

DO NOT BUY (I even had access underneath)
It is not possible to install this tub without access from underneath. If a plumber tells you they can, they are lying and the tub will leak because you have to secure the gasket from the bottom along with slip nuts. I had access underneath and still could not install because of a defect. See pictures where the drain was completely crooked on the bottom when flush at the top because the mold was a quarter inch longer on side side than the other. We tried both the stock drain and the matte black.

                So far so good
I love the look of the tub but it’s 3 stars so far. I haven’t used it as of yet so I don’t know if the drain will be an issue like some of the reviews. However switching the finish of the drain and overflow was easy. It takes a bit of tugging but just like another reviewer suggested, pull downward. Wiggle and tug and it comes right out. I used a tile spacer for traction.

Different color trim options don’t fit
They offer trim options for the drain in colors other than chrome but they are longer than the chrome so they don’t fit without bottoming out. I called the company that makes them and they just say to cut the drain down but that messes up the threads. I’ve now spent about $350 extra dollars with the plumber here trying to get this to work but only to revert back to chrome. When I called the company, they literally said well we’re darned if we do and darned if we don’t stock both lengths. Junk

                    LOVE THIS TUB!!
This tub is a GREAT soaker tub!! I'm 5-10 and I don't have to fill it to the top to be completely submerged. I love the bright white, smooth, sleek style. The water stays hot for at least an hour while soaking. My contractor was able to get it in without too much of a problem. Any issues had nothing to do with the tub itself. My son helped the contractor put it in the alcove and he was very impressed by it as well. He's planning on purchasing one for the home he just moved into. It's a very sturdy, well constructed tub. We mortered the bottom so we shouldn't have any issues there.

                    Black Matt Drain
Don’t listen to the previous review, I easily changed out the drain slot to the Matte black. I just stuck my fingers in the slot and slightly pulled down and the chrome one popped right out, then just popped the matte black one in.

                      Nice looking BUT
Very nice looking large deep tub. Its a dream to soak into. BUT opened my access door and noticed that the tub has weak spots and its see through in some areas. This is a HUGE Concern as i dont think this tub will hold up for years to come. Unfortunately this was noticed after install. Had i noticed prior, it would have went right back to HD!!!
