A: Only if the switch is on. Maybe I should say only when the switch is on. the rest of the time the switch controls the light.

A: They are both very good for either use but they are programmable individually or organized as a group, so they may be an additional cost if you already have a smart switch. Regular LED bulbs would work for you with a smart switch.
A: All I can say is why? Is it just you want the dim feature? I don't know about that light switch but I have seen light switches with dimm feature?? If it's not paired to a network it should work just like any other bulb you screw in the socket.

A: I now use my Wyse Bulbs outside of my garage, As long as they are in a waterproof fixture. The temperature specifications of the bulb itself can easily handle our mountain weather !!!
A: You'll need an enclosed fixture, electronics often doesn't do well with moisture if something is not made for outdoors moisture is your enemy. What have you got to lose just try it but you also have to be sure you have wifi where you want to put it outdoors.
A: They can be scheduled to come on and off at certain times but I do not believe they can be scheduled to turn of after a certain amount of time.

A: Yes but these bulbs are programmable to be setup individually or as a group depending how you want to use them, with the Wyze application.
A: the wyze app and google home (don't know about Alexa but i'm sure she can do it too) both offer a way to setup a routine for a device. Wyze also has some other clever gadgets like magnetic switches that you can do such things as turn on a light when the closet door is opened etc.
