For the best experience when giving voice commands to Nest Mini, we recommend adjusting your Nest Mini's mic sensitivity and retraining it to better recognize your voice can be helpful with the issue. Check out the steps below:
Retrain Voice Match:
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
- Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.
We also recommend changing Nest Mini's hotword sensitivity:
- Open your Google Home app.
- Select your Nest Mini.
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon.
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest Mini more responsive to the hotword.

Worth its on-sale price. Google Assistant is getting a lot better, starting to become actually useful, and it's nice to have an always-ready device for it. Sounds good, looks nice, feels nice, great size. Looking forward to future iterations.

Works pretty well. Sometimes forgets my Utah location and...
Works pretty well. Sometimes forgets my Utah location and tells me the temperature in New York. Irritating trying to play free music. Can’t request specific songs and when I asked it to play something by Bach, the“channel” it picked had absolutely nothing to do with Bach or baroque music. Similar results with other music requests. I like to play podcasts though you can only get the current episode and then ask it to play previous episode multiple times if you need to get to an earlier one.
