Our YARDGARD 1-5/8 in. x 1-5/8 in. x 6 ft. 16-Gauge galvanized steel line post is essential for any chain link fencing product. Patent pending swaged end design for a tighter and more secure fit. This galvanized steel line post is part of the fence framework and helps support the chain link fabric. These posts should be spaced a maximum of 10 ft. apart and 18 in. to 24 in. in the ground based on local municipalities. This post is used for a 3.5 to 4 ft. H chain link fence.

Fence poles are usually space between 8 an 10 ft apart depending on the soild conditions and the tightness of the fence it self

how strong is this against bending?

Very strong and thick. You would have to hit it very hard to put a dent.
