Does this come with the 4way log splitter
Hello Andy, None of our log splitters are sold with the 4-way wedge at this time. The 4-way wedge was discontinued earlier this year and was removed from all online listings on our website as well as our partner retailers. This decision was made after we completed a thorough cost analysis that determined the value provided was not equatable to the cost of manufacturing. As of now we are only including our standard 2-way wedge with all of our gas powered log splitters. Please let us know if you have any questions moving forward. Thank you!
Does it have a auto return on the hydraulic function?
Yes, it does. You have to operate the "return" function on the lever and it will retract to the top of the cylinder or manually stop.
Thank you for informing me HOW to access the hydraulic filter; NOW, since your OP Manual NEITHER stipulates this, what filter # do I replace it with and where can I get one and how much is it? Someone told me yesterday that they did not think it had a filter but ONLY a non-replaceable screen which does not remove anything like a REAL filter. Is that true?

You say that the hydraulic filter is "mounted" in the tank. In the operator's manual there is no mention of this filter in the care and maintenance section; only changing the fluid??? How is one supposed to change this filter to keep the unit from failing or premature wear out of all of the hydraulic fluid seals and the pump piston/cylinder??? I am more interested in knowing how LONG this great investment will last. Even though it works great for just 3-5 yrs, if it wears out shortly after that I have been a fool to buy it. How does one regularly change the hydraulic fluid filter?
The hydraulic filter is mounted in the hydraulic tank. The hose connects to the tank and is held in place by 6 hex-head bolts. If you remove those bolts, the filter is inside this mount.
It appears that the operator handle is horizontal to the unit. Can it be positioned in the vertical position?
Hi Dave, Thanks for visiting our site! This log splitter is operable both horizontal and vertically. The control lever operates the same in either position. It travels parallel to the mast in both positions. When the lever is moved, the boom moves in that direction. Thank you for asking, -Travis
