A:Â The manufacturers book that comes with the mower will tell you who to call or email.
Parts and pieces are normally available thru the manufacturers. You just have to read your manual and look up stuff. It's there!

by|Sep 16, 2018
A:Â The better question is why WOULD you buy this? I've had mine for about a year. It does the job, but is poorly designed. The discharge chute is best left off. The oil fill is in an unreachable location and so there are some issues. Not nearly as well made or designed as my last 2 mowers.

We needed a replacement for a mower I use to mow on a fairly steep, long slope of lawn. The unit that was being retired had a very reliable Briggs & Stratton engine, so that was a good feature on this model. The most important criteria was its weight. The heavier the mower, the more difficult to control it would be, and therefore less safe. For that reason, self-propelled and electric start mowers were excluded. This one was perfect. It was even lighter than the Yard Machines model it replaced, and the big rear wheels seem to make it easier to maneuver. It was easy to set up and came with oil for its crankcase. The oil dipstick/filler plug was a little difficult to unscrew at first, so pliers or a flathead screwdriver might be needed the first time you unscrew it. It was a worthy purchase.

I bought this to replace an old, similar mower, used primarily to get at weeds under fir trees and between bushes growing along the boundary between a flat grassy lawn and a mostly natural wooded / bushy area. Overall, I found it filled the bill very nicely. It started with the first pull and has continued to do so. It is easy to push and maneuver, and the height adjustments (6 levels) allow for many kinds of conditions. But it has a horrible defect in design of the side discharge option. I specifically wanted side discharge. This offers mulching or side discharge. BUT, mulching is the default and side discharge requires inserting a nozzle under the spring loaded mulching flap, where it is supposed to be held in place by spring pressure and two U-shaped tabs. It is not securely attached by bolts. As a result, when pulling the mower back in high grass or weeds or next to shrubs (on the right side) the side discharge nozzle can be twisted off. That happened several times the first day I used it. On the second day, it happened again, and the nozzle was chewed up by the mower as it passed over the twisted-off discharge chute. If you only use this on typical grassy areas this may not be a problem. But for those of us with high weeds to deal with from time to time, it is..

Downsizing so chose a smaller model. Just purchased and used it the first time. Worked fine.
Two issues. First drawback was putting in the oil. My former mower was very convenient, and this one is placed oddly. Need a funnel.
Secondly, it was slightly damaged, as if it suffered a fall in transit or someone banged it up during packaging.
For a smaller, lightweight, inexpensive model, it cut fine. Hope it lasts! My last one was over 15 years old and in decent shape. It was just too big and heavy for a smaller yard.

My receipt shows I bought this on May 14, 2016, so it is almost 2 years old.
The last 2 years, it has performed fine. After liberal priming with the fuel bulb (usually about 20 pumps before I can start feeling fuel going through the line), the engine will generally start on the first pull.
There are a couple of features that I do not like, and both are due to Briggs and Stratton cutting corners on their engine.
First is the air filter assembly. Older engines had a metal housing and a screw that went through and held the filter in place. This one has a plastic top that clips into place. I have had many times (like every other mowing) that the plastic cover vibrates free of the little clip that holds it in place. The cover falls off and the foam air filter with it. What a poor design! I would say to avoid this mower because of that, but this same design is on all of the Briggs and Stratton engines now. Unless you are ready to pay double for a Honda or Lawnboy engine, you are going to be stuck with this pour design. The engine company really needs to address this, because it is a big problem for lawns that are not smooth. If I had a smooth lawn, I would not need the big back wheels.
Next is the gas cap. It is plastic, makes a 1/4-turn, and stops with a semi-click. I have gone over rough terrain that has caused the gas cap to fall off more than once. Luckily, the gas cap has a safety ring to keep the gas cap from falling off and getting lost.

The oil "spout" on the mower where you add oil is VERY hard to get to. I had to purchase a flexible funnel in order to add oil. Even a mini sized funnel wouldn't work. I have no clue what the designers of this machine were thinking. I did get it started but it wasn't easy. I wish I had spent more time shopping but given the time of year and my immediate need my choices were very limited

Our old mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine died after over 20 years of service. This mower does a great job and I expect similar service from it. Easy to complete the assemble and started right up on the 4th pull for it's first time in use. Cut the grass finer than the old mower and the yard looked just great. Easy to maneuver and the discharge never got jammed up. Very happy with it.

This is a great little mower. I can make it either a mulcher or it will throw the cut grass off to the side. Turns nice with the larger rear wheels. Love the height adjustment (adjust both front wheels or rear wheels at the same time). Fuel tank holds about a quart. Only Con is the handle does not fold up well for storage.

The mower was easy to set up right out of the box. It started right up after I put gas and oil in. It is easy to adjust heights for cutting and mulches beautifully. I like everything about it and am very happy with it. There is nothing to dislike.
I have had it for about 4 weeks now, and it fully meets my expectations. I would definitely recommend the mower to others
