Can a regular lawn mowing blade be installed in this mower instead of a mulching blade?

Asked by Bexster June 9, 2020

Answer

Yes. You can buy mulching, rear discharge blades, or combo blades at most Home Depot locations. I’ve been really happy with this mower for years now. I mow 1/2 of an acre weekly (for the exercise I like a push mower). It starts every spring and works perfectly. Highly recommend! Hope this helps.

Hello Dylan, there is no oil drain plug on this model. You will need to drain it from the dipstick by tipping it over with the air filter pointing upwards. Thank you for your question!

Drain the gas or let it burn out. That is what I did. Then lay the mower on the side of the oil. One drained, sit upright and fill oil

Hello Rosie, this engine will not have an oil drain plug. To drain the oil you will first need to disconnect the spark plug. After that, tip the mower over with the air filter pointing upwards and drain the oil out of the dipstick tube. Thank you for your question!

It came with everything it needed to start. Once I placed this contraption onto my yard it started to do what it stated it would do. It cut my yard and I thanked it for doing so. We now have become best friends since it's as loud as my wife though I can turn my lawn mower off when I've had enough. The spark plug was gapped correctly and bag of oil that's supplied is also very conveniently easy to pour.

This lawnmower is a beast. It now's my thick, tall grass very well and the motor slows down very little as it does it. It was very easy to put together. I love it.

I am 32 years young and this is the first time I have ever needed a mower or mowed grass. The yard machine was very easy to assemble, instructions were clear, and it even came with the oil to put into the engine. The mower started on the first attempt and I immediately felt accomplished. The wheels were very easy to adjust to the height that I needed. Needless to say this is a great product and very easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product.

I waited a year to write this review because other reviewers had difficulty starting it after winter layover. However, I drained the gas tank per the instructions before storage, put in new gas in the Spring and it started right up! This is a poor man's Toro and likely adequate for most lawns. It starts up after one or two pulls and doesn't require priming or choking. The grass bag is on the smallish side requiring frequent emptying and the two retaining screws that hold the handle to the mower hamper bag removal and attachment. Also, whether by design or design flaw lawn clippings shoot out of a gap between the bag and the holding door. Other than those minor gripes, I think this is a good mower for the price.

We bought this mower because the picture showed an uneven terrain with obstacles. We're making trails on 37 acres of wooded, hilly property and this was a "cheaper" alternative to a box blade. This mower has been upill, downhill, gone over stumps, rocks and everything in its path and it's still going strong. We have made lots of trails and only had to clean out the air filter. Even if I had to buy another one to complete the miles of trails we're making, it'll definitely be worth it. It takes a beating and definitely lives up to its potential of being able to go over uneven terrain with obstacles. Great product!!!

This machine worked well for 2 years. But at 2 years one month, this machine stopped running for more than 5 minutes. Bought a new carburetor, after cleaning old one, cleaned fuel tank and line, new plugs, air cleaner etc.. Watched hours of YouTube videos etc. Will buy a replacement one and use the old one for parts.
