An almost perfect product
This extension cord holder is very well designed and is much cheaper than other similar products. By separating the spool in two, it gives access to both ends, the longer part connects to the consumer device and after unspooling the cord, the shorter part can be connected to the power outlet. The only problem is that to unspool the cord, one has to rotate the handle repeatedly. I used a swivel joint large enough to fit through the hole in the handle and the problem was solved. The swivel costs a bit more than the holder, but the total cost is less than $20.

light but sturdy and well-designed
When the package arrived, I honestly thought Home Depot might have sent me the wrong thing, because it seemed so small and light. But when I unpacked it and attached the bottom piece perpendicular to form a stand (which was easy), it felt sturdy. And I realized that lightness is an advantage, because of course a long extension cord itself can be heavy.
It works great to neatly hold my long cord (see photos). The handle feels comfortable when I carry it around. I like that it has little notches to hold the ends of the cord: two on the top and two on the bottom, so you could theoretically store two different cords on it. It's a nice lemon yellow color (lighter than DeWalt yellow). It's about 11.5" wide and the same height. There's a hole on the top if you want to hang it from something. It seems like they put thought into how to make it sturdy and useful while not using more plastic than necessary.
Definitely follow the included instructions when wrapping your cord for the first time, because you don't want to get it all wrapped and then realize that you can't get to one end. Basically you want to wrap your cord starting from from somewhere in the middle so that the ends are free when you need them.
I would not hesitate to buy another if I need another.

Nice and sturdy, well made, not flimsy like most of the others we looked at before purchasing this one. We use it for 100' of 12 G extension although it was probably designed for 14G. It works for the 12G, although a little tight. The 12G just did not work with all the others we tried, granted in this price range.

For Under five bucks, it made my life a lot easier. Now after trimming the hedges or anything else I can wind up the cord without it knotting. It is made of High grade plastic, and for the price that is great. I wound the cord, and now I am ready for my next chore.

Overall I am quite pleased with my extension cord holder. My one and only (tiny) gripe is that it is a little small for a lot of cord, like 100 feet or so. It is extremely handy to wrap up cords and either set on a bench or hang on a hook.
