What size Concrete screws for the track do I need?

Can this be installed without the track? Glue down?

Asked by Frank May 18, 2020

Answer

No, this is made for a floating floor so the flooring on both sides must be allowed to expand and contract. Glue it to the floor would inhibit this movement and eventually the glue would give out. I suppose you could try gluing the track down instead of screwing to the subfloor.

Are the anchors provided for concrete? If so what size bit? If not what's the proper hardware? Thanks.

No concrete anchors wood anchors only. You might want to use tapcons. Id say holes in rail are about 1/4.

Is the seasoned Wood and the Harrison Pine the same color?

Yes, they just recently changed the name from Harrison Pine Dark to Seasoned Wood. I bought the flooring back when it was called Harrison Pine Dark and recently bought some trim pieces that are now called Seasoned Wood and they match exactly.

This T-molding is drastically better quality than the laminate wood (mdf) T-molding that I have purchased in the past. The laminate has been found and to chip easily, but the is all one solid piece that appears to be able to withstand a good amount traffic. It was easy to cut with a hand saw and I would think a table or miter saw would work as well. I might recommend using a finer tooth blade like you would for plywood to keep the edge nice. I did one initial score with a utility blade, but I would not recommend a traditional score and snap like you would use with a vinyl plank. The snap in design of the T-molding could get damaged. Speaking of the snap in design, I was able to use the existing rail from the previous transition piece which made the install very easy. I clicked it in by hand and they tapped it down with a soft mallet to make sure it was secure. Even though this transition piece is not made by LifeProof, it matches the Life Proof Seasoned Wood Luxury vinyl planks perfectly.

I strongly recommend the Harrison Pine Dark Vinyl T-Molding. We installed it 2 months ago in 2 rooms and it looks beautiful with our new Harrison Pine dark vinyl flooring. It transitions from the family room to the hallway which changes direction and also into a bedroom with a different floor. It is a quality product that is easy to install and coordinates with all the floors nicely.

The floor is just beautiful, but incredibly fragile. We did the installation ourselves after reviewing the itunes video. It was very easy to break the connections. Once you were able to lock it in place it looks seamless. Just a long time getting it done.
