The product is nothing like what the photo portraits. It depicts a solid hardwood, even states it in the name. This is cheap, fiber board pressed crap. Returned immediately. Also, near impossible to tell actual color online. Wasn't near dark enough for current project to make other material.

I first purchased this product for my stairs to replace the old carpet. When it came in damaged, I inspected the pieces to see if there was any way to use them because I was in kind of a hurry, due to the fact I was having family in from all over, for Thanksgiving. There was way to much damage to use this shipment as well as the product not matching the flooring. We reordered and the new stuff came in the same. In fact it looked to be the vary same product. The vendor had resent the same items.The finish of the stair nose in no way matched the flooring. It looked like a little kid finished them. The quality was truly awful. I would not install in a barn. I was told that the flooring and the stair nose were made by different companys. This explains alot. The company making the stair nose should be dropped from The Home Depots vendor list. It is places like this that cause a company to get bad reviews. The Home Depot is a great company and needs to weed out places like this. Needless to say my wife was truly disappointed that we were unable to have Thanksgiving at our new home.
