Answerany spacer layers must be glued and screwed so the floor feels solid. just installed this on a landing and the overhand lip covers the end cut of the floor and the riser also supports the bull nose end which keeps the entire piece stable.

AnswerThe nose measures 1" the back measures 1 3/4" with about a 1/4" lip to overlap the plank. The lip overlapped the factory click edge of my planks but when i cut the planks for fit on my angles stairs they butted up against the stair nose. This made a seemless look but i had to finish nail my floor down in those areas. I laid an 8mm or 3/8" think floor

I completely agree with the other reviewers that the color doesn't match the Home Decorators Wellington flooring as the photos on this listing would have you believe. Based on the reviews we checked it in store and almost didn't purchase. However, my husband was convinced that once we got it home, under regular lighting, and using it for the intended purpose, it would all work out well. I hate to admit it but he was right. The contrast looks purposeful and sophisticated. Overall my stairs look amazing. If it wasn't foe the misleading product photos, I'd give this 5 stars.

This product completely transformed my home. The distress marks in the hardwood flooring is so natural. I like the way it accents my furniture. I have had it for 3 weeks now and I am still truly amazed. This product goes beyond my expectations. Thank you for selling such an incredible product.

The finish on this is super thin. It is definitely NOT scratch resistant. This is just a poorly/cheaply engineered product.
I would recommend researching online and fine an unfinished product and stain it yourself. It would be much cheaper as well.
