The Zenith Floor Lifter was designed to bring the same utility and performance of the Trim Puller combined with the common and practical hand work of a chisel. The integrated wedge of the Floor Lifter has a larger angle for more aggressive extractions on bigger jobs. The Floor Lifter is excellent for wood flooring, wooden or vinyl siding, oversized boards and planks. Wood, ceramic tile, just about any surface can be worked efficiently with the Floor Lifter. It has the same integrated center wedge as Trim Puller that increases removal efficiency and prevents damage to both trim and wall. Its longer design provides for a deeper plunge on wider baseboards and trim. Its Z shape design is also ideal for crown molding removal. Great at scraping textured ceilings with its ability to accept standard extension handles, it also can be used as a hook to rip off vinyl or aluminum siding or hanging ceiling planks. And a Zenith specially designed extension handle allowing for aggressive tapping to extend your reach, just screw it into the end of the handle. The new extension handle will allow you to remove flooring and other materials reducing time spent on your knees. The 48Rc heat treated steel and a comfort handle insure great performance and durability. The Floor Lifter has more uses than any other tool in the category. Pull, Pry, Lift and Scrape. More uses, less tools, save you money.
Ideal for removing harwood and tile floors: The Zenith Floor Lifter is designed specifically for safely removing hardwood floors, ceramic tile, trim, nail or glued countertops and it's great to scrape off popcorn ceilings; it's the ultimate demolition and remodeling multi-tool
Integrated center wedge tackles larger removal projects without damage: the floor lifter has a larger angle with the integrated wedged center that provides increased removal efficiency for more aggressive extractions on bigger jobs and its longer design provides for a deeper plunge on wider baseboards and trim; eliminating the need for a shim or small board spacer
Pull it, pry it, lift it, and scrape: the floor lifter has more demo and remodel uses; it does all the work of a wrecking bar, flat pry bar or claw eliminating the need for a shim or small board spacer, which means less tools, saves time and money
Add the exention handle (sold separately) which will allow you to remove flooring and other material reducing time spend on your knees and is great for scraping ceilings
Comfort grip, shock-absorbing edpm handle: this trim puller is capped off with an edpm handle that feels comfortable in the hand while offering exceptional shock absorption
Durable steel construction-built to last: the 48Rc heat treated steel construction provides lifetime durability with a ground bevel on the edge which allows tool to easily be driven between trim and wall and also allows tool to be used as a shim for leveling cabinet bases
Q:Would this work on 1970 vinyl tiles applied w/adhesive directly to the wood which then had vinyl sheet flooring adhered directly on top of that by a so-called pro installer? Mom laid tiles way before how-to videos to help, "pro" made it worse, total mess!

A:Â Best to try contacting Customer Service as there doesn't seem to be an extension handle made by Zenith available. Often Customer Service has manufacture info that is helpful. Maybe the floor tool handle threads match that of typical extension handle/poles and one of the many Home Depot sells will fit and be suitable for your needs. Again, Customer Service, the Special Orders Desk can help.

A:Â The blade is wide, but not sharp, so you're probably going to rip the staples out rather than cutting right through them.

A:Â I think so, it is heavy duty. any staple i have seen is an easy one for this.

A:Â I believe this would work but would require the use of hammer. However I believe over the use that you need it that the handle end will fail.

A:Â Yes. The tool edge is sharp. Can be sharpened if it bends rather than cuts staples. The concern would be handle taking hammering. The metal inserted into handle likely doesn't go past the hole, (see attached photos), the weakest aspect of this rugged tool. But for the price if it got through this one job would be well worth the cost. If not it is returnable to Home Depot for 180 days and might qualify for the manufacturers limited lifetime warranty. The handle is pretty tough, has stood up well to hammering required to remove trim so it might not be an issue at all. I'd recommend trying, this tool is exactly as stated- more uses, less tools, saves you cash! Great versatile tool.

I've only used a pole type floor lifter, though for a hand held, I've used anything handy like a putty knife, small pry bar or chisel. I was very excited to give my new Zenith floor lifter a try.
First impression: This is a nice solid tool. The blade is thick (see picture below), there's a nice edge and I like the lifter center (lifts the tile as I pry). The handle is well made and solid and as a bonus, the black cap unscrews and can be put on a pole. Note that the cap is also very heavy and well made.
Use: I had some old square tile flooring I needed to pull, before installing the new laminate. I started in the corner of the tile and with a light tap, the tool pried under the tile and up popped the tile! I did the same to the next tile and with one tap, it was up. I did the entire row very quickly and was on to the next row. This tool is a huge time saver!!!
Observation: The edge stayed sharp the entire time. There was some old glue and paper from an old laminate installation - I hit it with the tool and it came up easy. The heft of the tool and the solid cap (where I tapped) made the job easy. No flexing of any part of the tool. I felt confident when I hit the cap with my hammer. I also used it to pull tack strips when I pulled the carpeting and it's much better than using a pry bar and hammer.
Conclusion: I wish I would've had one of these years ago. I've been working on homes since the late 1980's and I grabbed whatever tool was around. Using the right tool makes all the difference, it saves time and it's also much safer. I highly recommend this tool for anyone pulling old flooring up or tack strips. I highly recommend it.
Well designed rugged durable effective prying tool. Selected the Zenith Floor Lifter to remove trim without damaging old fragile plaster. Tool performed as expected without hammering typical pry bar or trim puller tool requires, exactly what was needed to preserve plaster. The vertical handle and blade is heavy enough to force behind trim by hand using the tool weight to loosen trim then the large surface area allows prying over a large enough area to not damage plaster. Much easier than trying to protect plaster or damage by hammering. Tools weight and large handle make removing trim by hand quick and easy. Scraper blade was great for removing old wallpaper and smoothing rough plaster too. Tool also great for working with old barn boards. Removing them without damaging turned out to be an added bonus the Zenith Floor Tool was great for. A great all around prying tool for many tasks.

The overall quality is quickly apparent as soon as you handle and use this tool. This is well equipped, versatile, and made to last for years.
My observations:
• Starting with quality, it made from a high quality treated steel. This is not going to bend under normal use. I’m very impressed with how this tool is made and how it will hold up even with severe usage.
• The handle is easy to grip and stays in your hands without slipping.
• With this tool you can scrape, pull, pry, remove nails, etc.
• You can add an extension by removing the screw cap to reduce the amount of time you spend on the ground.
• I mentioned the versatility earlier. This is good for removing trim, boards, siding, wood flooring, and scraping texture from a ceiling. The uses are pretty much unlimited. Tools like this often fall into the 'must have' category.
This is a great tool with more uses than most will realize. I recommend.

This Zenith Floor Lifter Hand Tool is a beast. When I ordered it online I didn't realize just how beefy this thing is. I provided a picture of a standard-size hammer next to it just so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about, it's a big tool. The tool is very sturdy, it doesn't feel like it's going to give at all when you're prying or hammering it. The raised wedge in the middle does all of the real work for you, as you push down, or hammer down, the wedge moves whatever you're lifting away from the flat surface (leaving very little prying to the hands). The handle is big and comfortable, and the black knob on the back end of the tool unscrews if you need to use an extension handle with it. The knob is steel and very heavy as well, so you don't have to worry about beating the end of the tool to death, there's no chance you're going to hurt it. The width of the blade is approx. 4" and that provides you with at least twice the area of a standard pry bar. Altogether I think this tool is awesome and for my large flooring job I plan to get at least one more of these so my wife and I can work on the tear-down together.

The Zenith floor lifted took is a game changer. It has many uses but what really impressed me was the job it did on removing my base boards and crown mounding, with great ease I was able to remove these and keep them intact. Usually I would do this with a putty knife or demolition bar and would end up just replacing but not anymore. This scraper also has a removable back for hooking up a broom stick too to save your back when using on floors.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN; MULTIPURPOSE; WELL-MADE — The Zenith Floor Lifter Hand Tool is an outstanding tool to have if you are removing a floor. It would have been helpful to have had last year when I was removing a ceramic tile bathroom floor. I used a brick chisel but this tool would have worked much better since it is thinner and has a lift capability. This well-designed tool has secondary uses. A unique feature is that the end of the handle may be removed to insert a long screw-on extension (such as from a broom). This configuration makes it easy to use as a floor or ceiling scraper. You may not be able to exert the force that you would be able to with the regular handle and a hammer but for some types of scraping, it is a useful tool. The tool may also be used to carefully lift furniture high enough to place sliders under it to simplify moving. The handle has a hole for hanging up the tool..

When remodeling the task of removing old flooring can be pretty brutal and you need a tool that is heavy duty and this one from Zenith is definitely made to do the job for years. It has a chisel type front end with a notch for pulling nails if you need that, no need to get up off of your knees and get a pry bar. It has a very comfortable handle that is made from some type of very durable plastic. The end of the handle has a metal plug that threads into a female fitting that will accept and extension handle. When the metal plug is threaded in it's very strong so that you can hit it with a hammer to get the chisel end under any type of flooring. If you're demolishing old floors you will be glad to have this tool.

This floor lifter hand tool is awesome. Full disclosure, I haven’t put it to use yet on floors as I have a power tool for that. That being said, this is the perfect tool for removing baseboards. The offset angle on the blade allows the handle to be in a good position for tapping on it with a hammer. Also the lifted plated helps pushing the baseboard away from the wall. The blade itself its fairly wide, so there is a lot of area on the blade to prevent damaging the drywall. There is a metal end cap on the handle that can be removed so that an extension piece can be attached.
