How to Get It

Product Overview

ZeroEnergy is a unique, innovative heat recovery system that provides free hot water while your air conditioner (AC) system is running. It connects to both your outdoor AC unit and your water heater, helping them both work more efficiently. Because water heating can be as much as 30% of your total energy bill, the higher your current water heating bill, the quicker ZeroEnergy will pay for itself. ZeroEnergy works so well that in the warmer months when your AC is running constantly, the hot water portion of your energy bill can be reduced to zero. Please see the attached product and installation videos for more details. Installation is available through The Home Depot certified installer network, so please call 813-978-3733 to speak with an Olive Tree Energy technician for product and installation questions.

We installed this heat recovery unit on to a 2.5 ton Air Conditioner heat pump condenser and plumed it into a New Rheem 85 gallon Marathon Commercial electric water outside a home ( where a small room will be built over the water heater ) and within about and hour with the air conditioner running we had 139 F degree hot water temperature on a hot water faucet before we installed the anti scald valve in the house and the power turned OFF feeding the water heater. So it seems as long as the Air Conditioner runs a few hours a day the water heater elements will probably not even turn on and with the Marathon water heater there is very little heat loss the tank itself will hold hot water for days after its heated. Hot water out temperature at the ZeroEnergy unit 143 F degrees, Hot gas in temperature at the ZeroEnergy unit 181 F degrees. The current pull on the Air Conditioner was reading 11.2 amps to start after installing the ZeroEnergy unit on to the existing system the Amp Draw went down to 9.3 which in theory turned this 13 seer heat pump into a around a 15 seer system plus free heated water. Over all ZeroEnergy water heater system is a great idea and a big energy saver and with a Marathon water heater makes even more better and efficient.
