Opposite results to the producer description
After sanding, cleaning and degreasing.
This product enhanced peeling and is very thin, I asked for it by name at the Home Depot and this is what was given to me.
Thin almost as varnish and started bubbling immediately.
I will try and return it to the Home Depot, hoping the customer service is better than this product.

We appreciate you sharing your experinece, Eric. Prior to applying Rust-Oleum Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick Binding Primer, loose paint must be removed. This primer is intended to help prevent further peeling of sound paint. This primer is also a high-build primer to help smooth peeled surfaces to help smooth prior to top coating.

Didn’t last
This primer worked great when we applied to a cabin about 5 years ago, 2 years ago it started peeling, today it needs primed again and repainted didn’t last long

Let's see what we can figure out. Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick Primer is a water-based acrylic binding primer designed to penetrate and stop previous coatings from peeling. Product may either be applied lightly for basic priming and sealing, or follow with several thick coats to bridge and fill cracked and uneven surfaces. For severely peeled surfaces, apply a first coat thinned with 10% water and work into the peeling paint. Apply the product up to 30 mils wet per application, not to exceed 30 mils, which may result in mud cracking or sagging.

The opposite of peel stop
This primer does not do what it advertises. We had some old peeling paint in a room in our house and decided to use this primer to try to lock it down. It does NOT dry white (it's more translucent than that) and has very poor hiding of the previous coats. We tried priming with a traditional primer on top but that caused the Peel Stop to start peeling off! Do yourself a favor and avoid this primer. It does the exact opposite of what it says it does.

Something is amiss here, Thomas, and we need to know more to get to the bottom of what went wrong with this application. Our Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick is a specialized bonding primer, designed to bind down the edges of peeling and cracking paint. It is not designed to be a high-hiding primer, however, an additional primer may be applied over it, and this should not cause peeling to occur. Surface preparation prior to applying our Peel Stop Triple Thick is key to ensure proper adhesion. Easy to use

Does exactly what it says it does!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This peel stop triple thick primer is unique in that it is 50% transparent. So it will not give you a thick white primer like some may expect. It is more like a mix between wood glue and primer. It is meant to seal in old paint that you don't want to have to completely remove. You do still need to knock off the loose paint but this helps seal the rest so it doesn't continue chipping under your fresh paint. We have an old shed that needed some love. A good pressure wash a good coat of this magic stuff and it was ready to paint! The paint has held up well!

Covered pealing texture well, hope it lasts.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had wallpaper taken down in March 2022 and then had the walls texturized and painted. Within a few months, we noticed that the texture and paint was chipping on the corner of a small wall. I believe this is because there is a metal corner protector piece so the texture didn't stick as well as it does to drywall. Anyways, I covered the areas that were chipping with a good coat of this triple thick primer and it covered pretty darn well. I'm happy with the initial result. The question will be if and for how long it holds up or if it will start chipping away despite this primer. I'm hopeful this will have done the trick and prevent it from chipping any further.

So easy to use

Looking forward to using

I definitely am looking forward to spring to use it when it is warmer here in the frozen north. Not sure yet what I am going to use it on since it seems to indicate it will change the color to white.

Does not adhere
This product appeared to meet my needs, until I applied it to my porch ceiling, then a day later, the entire coat peeled off with very little effort. Time and money wasted, and very disappointed. I am a life long DIY'er. Never saw this happen with any paint product. For round 2, I tried Glidden Gripper and so far, that product is far superior and costs less!

Our Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer is designed to remain flexible, binding down peeling and cracking paint. Please note that the primer does not reach full hardness and adhesion for 7 days, and we recommend avoiding scratching or peeling the primer prior to this cure stage, as it will damage the film. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Does not "Prime" anything... I have never experienced a paint like this...
As you can see in the photo... The piece of wood I was attempting to "prime" did nothing but ruin the wood. To be honest, I should be refunded for gallon of paint I purchased and the piece of wood. The paint refused to actually work.

That is not what we like to hear, Alex! Our Zinsser Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer is designed to bind down peeling and cracked paint to create a sound surface for painting. This primer is not designed or recommended for priming bare wood as shown here in the photo provided.
