Thank you for your feedback! Rust-Oleum Zinsser Wallpaper Scoring Tool is designed to score wallpaper, so that a stripper can penetrate and help loosen the wallpaper. We typically recommend 10 holes per square inch to help ensure proper penetration.

Made it about 30 linear feet across a wall, and the plastic parts inside all fell apart. Tried reassembling it, snapped the bits back together, and it came apart again in 10 inches or so. In other words: junk.

Broke within 2 hours on my 2nd 4x8 wall section. Used according to instructions; no heavy pressure. Removing flocked wallpaper. It was effective, until it broke. One of the wheels came off; could not re-secure it. I cannot afford to buy a new one every other wall. Poor quality, poor value.

I purchased a scoring tool and took it home to use it and within a minute it completely fell apart. The spiked Wheels came off of the axle. I really needed to use this tool 2 finish the job so I we turned it to the Home Depot and a pleasantly exchange it for another brand new one. But much to my disappointment it did the exact same thing. I threw it in the trash and continue stripping the wallpaper by using extensive labor. I will say when the scoring tool worked and perforated the wallpaper that area came off so much easier. I just wish the tools are better quality

This tool works well scoring the paper and not damaging the wall and it's easy to use and feels good in hand. It's recommended that you also purchase the spray and the scraper when using this tool. This tool does it's job however I'm not sure I'll use it again. Removing wallpaper in smaller pieces is more of pain, rather than trying to peel it off in larger sections. The only reason I don't recommend this is based on my own preference, not the tool itself. If you're looking for a scoring tool to help remove wallpaper, this one does work good and may be your best bet.

We appreciate your feedback, Bob! The Rust-Oleum Zinsser Papertiger Scoring Tool is designed to perforate wallpaper so stripped can penetrate and dissolve adhesive. The multiple scoring lines help the stripper penetrate more into the surface.

Easy to use and great quality scoring tool. The tool works very well and penetrates to the ideal depth to score most wallpapers. Paired with the adhesive removal solution and scraping tool, the scoring tool will save you hours of time trying to scrape and scratch away the wallpaper plus the adhesive underneath. The tool fits well in my hand (I wear a size large glove), but would probably fit well in smaller and larger hands, too. Highly recommend.

I used a Zinsser "Paper Tiger" Wallpaper Scoring Tool to remove a layer of vinyl wallpaper border in my bathroom. I read some reviews beforehand on how to use the tool, but I found that following the directions on the package is an effective technique. I ran the tool over the entirety of the paper several times to make multiple perforations in every square inch, and then used a solution of warm water and fabric softener (50/50 mixture) to detach the paper from the wall. It took a couple of applications of solution, but the paper peeled off in most places. I had to use a plastic scraper to remove remnants in just a few spots. It requires very little pressure to score the wallpaper. The instructions read, "Let the tool do the work." The teeth on the wheels extend just far enough below the tool (see photos) to score the paper without damaging the drywall. It might have helped in my case that the wall beneath the border had been painted a couple of times before the border was applied. My Zinsser Wallpaper Scoring Tool has imprinted on it that it was made in New Zealand by Wm. Zinsser & Co, although the packaging says Made in USA by Rust-oleum.

This Paper Tiger wallpaper scoring tool from Zinsser/Rust-Oleum is palmed in the hand, rolled around lightly against the wallpaper, and perforates it to ease the removal without steaming. It doesn’t harm the wall itself. You do need to spray down the wall with a squirt bottle of wallpaper stripper after scoring. There are a pair of swiveling rotating metal wheels underneath the tool (see photo). I used this to remove textured wallpaper in my bathroom that was painted over by the previous homeowner, and this tool worked great and made the job fast and easy.
