AnswersYou do NOT need a box spring for this bed, just a mattress. Otherwise you will need a ladder to get onto the bed, it will be too high; especially for children.

AnswersThe 1/2 frame is smaller than a twin. They are bolted together and won't downsize to a full. Once together, it makes a sturdy, queen size frame.

AnswersYou will need to unscrew the frame if you want to fold it up. It assembles with screws and wingnuts at each of the legs. But, it is easy to assemble/un-assemble if you wanted to put it away.
