Product Overview

The 1" 600XL Pressure Reducing Valve handles sandy, debris-laden water systems for high-flow capacity in residential, commercial, and new construction applications. It meets compliance with universal plumbing code. The stainless steel strainer includes a standard 20 mesh configuration and separate-access cover for simplified cleaning, while the bronze threaded bell provides superior corrosion-resistance and speeds access to the internals - together, cutting labor time up to 50%. Internal components of the 600XL utilize a balanced design, providing accurate downstream pressure without consideration of the incoming pressure.
  • Fiber union gasket ensures fast installation
  • Durable construction ensures low maintenance and lifecycle costs
  • Inlet pressure changes with balanced design features to protect the system
  • Stainless steel strainer screen features single-cap removal caused by thermal expansion
  • Threaded bell provides easier access than bolted on bells
  • Low-lead law compliant
  • ASSE Listed 1003
  • IAPMO Listed
  • City of Los Angeles Approved
  • Meets the requirements of NSF/ANSI 61
  • California residents

this is rated from 75 psi to 125 psi, where are you getting 50 psi? read the specs. Wilkins makes low pressure that is 25-75 psi, and high pressure 75 psi to 125 psi.

Is this a direct replacement of the Wilkins 70XL and do you sell repair kits?

Answer

Home Depot does stock the repair kits for the Model 70 valves. Its Internet SKU #203374788

Yes, the 600XL is the lead free version. 1-600XL is the same as the 1-600.

For everyone that is leaving negative reviews for pressure creeping up slowly in hours or days; It is possible that the old pressure regulator was not defective and you need to look at your expansion tank, if you have one. The expansion tank is supposed to buffer flow and pressure especially on the hot water side. A defective expansion tank will cause pressure to creep up over time.

These are quality products even though I had to return one. I have installed 4 of them in the last 6 months.Make sure you have a pressure gauge and read the instructions of how to adjust the pressure. In general I like the product and the company behind it.

Most folks here gave negative reviews that it came from factory at 55 PSI and then went up. They are all either not looking at specs or confused with something else. This particular model has range of 75 psi to 125 psi. This is high pressure regulator. It comes at 85 psi preset from factory. Read the specs folks!

I checked out the reviews before buying the local stores only carry this brand so I was forced to buy another. Followed instructions and everything was perfect for 15 hours then the pressure went up over 100. Don't waste your time installing it. I gave it 1 star but it deserves ZERO. I will return it and find a retailer that has another brand it stock since I don't want to wait 5 - 7 days for Home Depot to ship it to me. The old one lasted for over 12 years. It seems the company's quality control has fallen apart.
