Q:If used over bare wood, will the grain or bumps show through? Or is this thick enough that it will be smooth?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello DJ, Thank you for your interest in the d-c-fix self-adhesive vinyl film. The film may be thick enough to prevent the wood grain to show through, however, it is best to sample a small area to review if the finish result is satisfactory.

A:  Hello Kelly, Thank you for your interest in d-c-fix products. Our films can easily be removable in most surfaces just after you apply them. A longer exposure may be challenging to remove the film completely. Note that d-c-fix also provides a range of window film static which are fully removable at any time. Thank you.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello , Based on your width you certainly will need to use more than 1 rolls. Use a smoother tool to connect the two ends as close as possible. Below are some further instructions to help with your d-c-fix project: Place the film with the backing paper over the item you are going to cover making sure you have an even margin all the way round. Gently peel away the backing from one edge of the film and place the exposed film onto the edge of your surface (remember to leave a bit of overlap). Now with your cloth or smoother, press gently on the film and smooth along the edge, starting at the center moving outwards in each direction. Once you have the film in place on the edge it won’t move around so carefully get hold of the backing paper and pull gently with one hand whilst firmly smoothing the top of the film down with the other hand, always moving from side to side. The idea is to remove the backing paper and smooth the film down as you go. This enables you to check that the film is going down smoothly minimising the risk of rest of the film getting stuck down where you don’t want it to. It’s worth taking this bit very slowly or getting help until you are confident with what you are doing. It’s easy once you get the hang of it. If you make a mistake you can pull the film off and start again (unless you are sticking to paper or cardboard. Thank you
