Q:I bought a roller shade from ifit cut-to-size and its bottom part were the shade is folded has issue. It had got loose and looks like the glue quality made it not stick them together. Also the roller does not go up all the way and stops a few inches down!

We bought these solar shades to use for a gazebo we have on our deck. I know they are not rated for outdoor use but we decided to try them out anyway. We were able to mount them inside behind a rail right below the metal roof which will protect the main component from the elements. We mainly wanted them to help block the rain from blowing in so we can sit under it while its raining. They are extremely easy to install and you can just pop the shade off the brackets if needed which we can then store them inside for the winter and just pop them back in for spring and summer. We order the brown which blends perfect with the metal gazebo we have. They look like they were made for it. We order shades for all four sides which can use to block all sides or just one side or any combination of sides needed. Very happy with them. We'll see how long they last being used outside. We like it much better than the sheer curtains typically used on gazebos.

This product is great. I've had them for 2 weeks now. I mounted it on the outside of the window and then built a 4 inch valance to cover the roller when in the up position. We can feel the difference in the room temperature because of the shades protecting us from the Sun. I love the way they roll themselves up in a slow quiet manner.

Recommended...with reservations. The shades themselves are of high quality and the hanging hardware was a breeze to install...even for one senior gal with the shades stretching to 66" in width!!
Problem 1: I don't know how much light they actually filter out. I still experience glare problems when sitting at my computer desk, which faces the easterly facing windows where the blinds are installed....I guess I thought they would block more light then they do.
Problem 2: The bottom edge, where the shade is pulled down, is not sewn shut or heat molded shut, as in other shades of this type that I own.
The bottom edges are folded over a flat plastic reinforcement bar on the bottom of the shade and are secured with what is supposed to be very sticky tape. Well, due to daily sun temps, the tape failed. I'm a fairly adept DIY'er and tried everything under the sun (ha-ha) to get that edge to stay closed...glues, solvents, clips, pressure, tapes of all kinds...nothing worked. I finally took a leap of faith and peeled the plastic rod (with much of the original sticky tape still intact, BTW) and repositioned it on the very bottom edge of the shade, without the foldover that created the pocket. Works like a charm. A little gentle heat from a hairdryer even took the dent out of the shade material where it was folded. But why didn't the manufacturer just sew the seam shut in the first place????
I like the look of these shades and would recommend them to others.

Good at first, but does not last - don't buy
The bottom of this shade is folded over a piece of plastic. It is held together with a cheap piece of tape that does not last at all causing the entire bottom seam of the shade to open up. It looks terrible. I have tried numerous options to fix it - nothing works. Very poor design.

These solar screens were great for what we needed in our primary bathroom. As long as you measure correctly, install is super easy! The only thing is, I wish they had options for a little bit more darkness to block out the sun.
