I charged the speaker, then took the cord out. The USB port came out with it. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!

Has a few hiccups, but recent update resolved most issues. Have to say has 2 awesome features, extremely loud volume (great with the Pandora update), can be used as a range extender for wifi with its hotspot feature
Bluetooth Speaker Is Anything But. Difficult Setup

I was hoping to be able to stream music and YouTube channels through the house with this thing via wi-fi. Good luck. The setup is confusing and lacks detail. I gave up on that.
So I settled on just using it as a Bluetooth speaker. Surprise! It doesn't work with computers or laptops. The instructions say so but of course they don't mention that on the box BEFORE you buy. I have two and I can't get them to pair. I tried hard. With two laptops.
I even tried to pair with my iPhone 6 so at least I could have a speaker. I just doesn't pair. It will find the device but never connects.
So the only way I can use it is to connect directly with a cord, which does work. Sound seems decent and this is a nice option but it is definitely not "wireless".
I'm assuming you have to use the app but this limits you ability to play anything you want through your phone. Overall this was a colossal waste of time and money.

I was buying this to replace my old Dot speaker (which was discontinued), and the iLive speaker is inferior. The sound isn’t as good, and the buttons are not as easy to use and lack a fast forward and rewind button. I especially need a fast forward button (for the skip function), since I use that a lot to skip songs I don’t like, and I hate always yelling at Alexa over and over to do it, since the sensitivity of the internal speaker isn’t very good. I will be returning this item for a refund.
