The number of hinges depends not only on the width of the door, but also on height and the weight of the door. For screen doors that are made with heavier materials, we recommend using a third hinge.

Rectangular flange goes on the door jamb itself and the scalloped Edge goes on the outside of the door. Mount hinge to the door jamb first , holding a level vertically on the hinge to get it straight up and down. Set the door in place and shim it at the bottom and the sides so the clearance on the door is exactly the way you want it and then Mark through the holes in the scalloped flange where to put your screw holes. To adjust closing pressure use the little Rod comes with the hinges or just a nail if you don't have it and turn the bottom ring to the right so you can release the little removable Peg. Set the peg further to the right to make less closing pressure and further to the left to increase closing pressure. Once you fool with it it's very easy you'll see. Hope this helps

Hi Susie, This hinge will work with your door's width. Note that this hinge does not have an exact "soft close" feature (where the door's closure speed slows down right before a few inches of it closing). You may, however, adjust the spring's tension to allow for an overall slower closing speed.

These hinges may be used for an inswing door. However, the Ball Finials would not be exposed on exterior, as this would require the hinges to be mounted on the inner side (interior portion) of the door jam.
