Can this be used for roofing?
Natural Underlayment has not been tested to meet the building code requirements for roofing materials, and cannot be warranted for this use.
Can this be used in a basement?
It says in the specs that it is suitable for concrete substrates above and below ground.
Yes, Natural Underlayment can be installed in a basement as the primary foam material and the patented lip and tape seaming system are both vapour barriers.

Is this product considered waterproof?
Yes, Natural SG is an industry leading vapor barrier and this means it is also waterproof. (Water vapor transmission transmission standards are higher than water transmission)
Can you use this product as an underlayment for solid hardwood floors?
Solid hardwood is typically nailed down where engineered hardwood is usually floating. For floating hardwood floors we recommend the 2mm Natural Underlayment but if the floor will be nailed down we recommend the 1mm Natural LVT. The reason for this is that the cushion required for floating floors offered in the 2mm may cause movement in the nail down floor which may loosen nails.
What is the R value of this underlayment?
3.8 seems way, way off. A triple pane window has a lower R value than that (~3.25), and many different comparable underlayments all have R values between 0.25 and 0.6
Natural SG was tested using ASTM-C-518 standards and has a Thermal Resistance of 3.8
Can this be installed under nail down solid hardwood flooring?
Natural SG Underlayment is designed for floating laminate, engineered and hardwood applications and is not warranted for nail down applications. For nail down applications we recommend Natural LVT SG.
