The product description does not state that this sand is pre-washed, but having viewed bags of this sand numerous times over the past 10 years, I would say that yes it has been washed prior to being prepared.     A:  For enclosed chicken coops and runs, I use construction sand and then deep litter with a PDZ treated chopped hay, especially with the cold/wetter months approaching. It keeps the coop/run floor low or no odor and the resulting compost mix is garden ready.
