Q:I want to use this for an outdoor reindeer decoration project. How many ply is this laminated with? Also what would you use to fill in the knot holes?

    Answer This Question

A:  Rick, typically 1/2-inch plywood is composed of 5-7 plies. The exact number of plies may vary depending on the type of tree used. When it comes to filling knot holes, there are various products available in the market that can assist with this. However, we apologize for any inconvenience, but we are unable to provide specific recommendations on which product or brand would work best.

A:  Hello Andrei, the plywood we offer is Pressure-Treated to protect it from termites, fungal decay, and rot. It is specifically designed for ground contact use, making it great for various applications like decks, playsets, and walkways. While we haven't tested it for sauna use before, we can't offer any recommendations for this particular application. We suggest checking with your local building code to ensure it meets the requirements for sauna use.

Q:Can I cover this with a sun reflecting paint the same type you would ordinarily use on a roof.
          by|Oct 13, 2023
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  Nick, although we understand that you may want to paint this Pressure-Treated plywood, we would recommend against painting and staining. In terms of your question, we unfortunately do not have any testing to support how the plywood may react to this type of paint, so we cannot recommend this method of installation. However, if you do decide to proceed with painting, please make sure that the wood is completely dry beforehand. You can easily check the dryness of the wood by sprinkling water droplets on the surface. If the water is absorbed, then the wood is ready for painting. If the water forms beads on the surface, it means that the wood is still too wet to be painted.
