      Answer This Question

A:  Do not know what HD calls this material, but it is not melamine. It is smoother and dry erase markers come off much easier. Plus the sandwiched material is much smaller/smoother, like compressed wood dust.

        Answer This Question

A:  From my research, no. It will soak into the board and swell the material. I am wondering though, if a person were to waterproof the edges with paint or plasti-dip (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Plasti-Dip-11-oz-Black-11203-6/100131010) this should make it outdoors capable. The edges are where moisture would get in. The board is meant to be wiped down with a damp cloth, so moisture on the working surfaces are not the problem, just the edges.

          Answer This Question

A:  No. Spray on magnetic material can be used but is VERY weak! My recommendation (method I have used) is to take sheet metal, smooth edges and then frame it. I use it as a magnetic board versus a writing surface. I am guessing that using a good paint and then sealing it with a good sealant may allow this type of material to be written on.

A:  No, this is not magnetic. However, if you plan to use only one side of the board, you could purchase strong earth magnets and super glue them to the back to make the other side magnetic when you use it.
