Q:How soft if the foam. I'd like to use them for detailing automobiles but want to know if the foam will scratch the paint.

A:  It's open cell foam and medium stiff. I wouldn't use it on my vehicles paint.

A:  If you are referring to using this brush to "smooth out" spray paint once it's been applied, that would not be recommended. This foam brush is safe to use with latex or oil based paints, but brushing over a sprayed coating is generally not recommended. Thanks,

      A:  in very small amounts, maybe for a small project like a bird house. . but for something like a deck- go buy a good brush.

        A:  If the wood is smooth then this will work. However because it is a foam applicator, it can catch or snag on any rough spots. A 2in natural bristle brush would be a good option as well. Thanks,

                  A:  These used to be sold as a case online but were discontinued because of lack a sales. However you could talk to your local store about ordering a case (288 pcs) as a special order or as extra stock to be held for you. Thanks,
