Q:Does the smell of the litter box escape because there is no flap on the cat door?

A:  It is a good thing you can smell the litterbox through the hole, as a reminder to scoop your box at least once a day! If your litterbox smells bad to you, it is oppessively stinky and upsetting to your cat who has a much stronger sense of smell.

                A:  It can be installed without the brushes. if you go to Chewy.com they have the same door with a video and they show you how you can install without the brushes.

                      Q:I have a siberian, 2nd in size only to the Maine Coon. They're BIG - he's 17lbs, NOT overweight. With the opening as small as it is, do you think he could fit? Is the brush removable if I needed extra space?

                      A:  We have a largish cat too. Not sure, but probably around 15 lbs. She fits in there fine. The brush comes out, and we did have to remove it just because our cats wouldn't go through the opening with it in there.
