A:  It would have to be a rather large plate, more like a platter or try. If you had it on the floor I think the list might fall to the floor and make it damp. I have mine on a stool and do not have that problem.

A:  Not sure. I returned mine. Too awkward to fill up with water.

A:  Yes, it does. Its very quiet and works wonderfully! I use it in a 12x14ish room, and it brings the humidity up 20 points in about an hour.

A:  Yes. It does tend to "over-shoot" the mark, so I would keep the humidity a little lower on the unit than you want. I run mine at 40% and it works fine.

A:  Yes, this unit has a delay start and auto-off feature that can be programmed but does not have a nightlight.

A:  This unit has a nightlight on the front where you set specific amount of time. Once your time runs out, the light goes off. Just follow the instructions provided.

A:  It does not have a night light. The LED display can be turned off so that it doesn’t illuminate or disrupt a dark room. I let it run all night while sleeping, it does have a delay start feature and an auto off button - that you can set to turn off in hour increments. I’ve had this two years and I love it! A:  The dial lights up when on but I would not call it a night light. You can set the timer for different periods of operation.

A:  Yes, it has a bluish glow close to a nightlight. You can set the desired humidity level but not a desired automatic switch off.

A:  I returned this item due to being very difficult to fill with water. But yes it has a timer. You can set it accordingly. It does light up at night. I thought it was too bright.

A:  the front panel is lit when its running but that is about it as far as I know mine didnt have like a night light .

A:  I don't think it's location as far as floors of a house are concerned has anything to do with its performance. The size of the room and its relative humidity do.

A:  hello I use this in my master bedroom but it would be fine in a basement it puts of no heat just fine mist to fill the room with moisture

A:  This humidifier works very well to ADD MOISTURE to a room. I use a DE-Humidifier in our basement. Also air filters. I found this machine awkward to fill, as the opening to add water is on the BOTTOM of the water reservoir; and one has to turn it upside down to put the reservoir on top of the machine. The reservoir is heavy when filled with water and can slip out of your hands, plus turning it upside down, makes it tricky.

A:  Yes. This is a very good machine a will work in large rooms. My only issue with it is that it is hard to reach some parts in order to clean.

A:  I’m sure it would be fine. Mine is in the family room - 14” X 10”.

A:  I think not . I would go with a larger more powerful unit . I use this on my night table ,and I am not sure how much good it does, honestly.

A:  It will work anywhere. However, I cannot recommend it because it is awkward to handle and difficult to fill and clean. But, perhaps, all of the humidifiers are like that. I can't compare. This is the only one I have used. Good Luck!

A:  There is no permanent ceramic filter. A removable filter of little pebbles, like I used with an aquarium. However, I would like to solve the problem of accumulating pink on the water touching plastic surfaces. Distilled vinegar isn't a complete solution.

A:  I don't know, I don't use the timer settings. Might be a good question for the manufacturer. I would call the customer service telephone number. I called them once, and they were very helpful.

A:  It is very quiet...but I would not say that there is no noise. However, that is the nature of what this is intended to do...add moisture to the air.

A:  mine seems to be very quiet. depending on my settings it will use the tank in about 24 hours and then it beeps when it turns off so I can go fill it up again. Yes to quiet. a computer is much louder if that helps.

A:  Yes it’s almost silent. You can hear a slight noise from the mist but it’s almost nothing.

A:  I don't know, but it only consumes 32 watts. That would be less than a 50 watt light bulb if you can picture that. It would not be worth paying to get an energy star rating.

A:  This is not energy star.

A:  You fill the tank on its bottom by lifting it out of the main unit, turning it over, unscrewing cap with filter attached, and pouring water in. There's a handle underneath that can be held, but the actual unloading and loading of the tank from/to the unit takes two hands. For filling, you can put the tank directly under the tap, but I've settled on putting the tank down on its top and then filling from a gallon jug that I've filled from tap. The rounded top of the tank makes it a little tricky to set down like that and it must be held steady while filling, but it does not bother me much and I prefer doing it that way as it reduces water splatter.

A:  The transparent tank lifts up and off the base. There is a cap with the ceramic filter attached on the bottom of the tank. You turn the tank up-side-down to refill.

A:  The top lifts off and you fill it there.

A:  The transparent upper section comes off the base (where the water is heated). You just lift it up, turn it over (there's a little handle to carry it, but take the white round diffuser off first, or it will drop on the ground) and unscrew the 2" cap and fill the upper section maybe 3/4 full of distilled water. Screw the cap back on, turn it back rightside and set it on the base and place the diffuser back on. Make sure it's sitting correctly on the base. Then press On. If you press On more than once it will give more humidity. The digital dial tells you what the current humidity is. They say between 30-40 is ideal. I'm happy with it in our bedroom.
