A: I found out there is a place to put sand that weighs it down enough for me. It is very light weight so able to tip out the old water easily.

A: I don't have mine staked down. i just pull the water house out to it to clean it.

A: If you fill the base with play sand, stakes are not necessary. If you must use a tie down, weighted objects like bricks work better. Place just two bricks on the base diametrically opposed. Move them around with your foot when you dump the water.

A: Yes, you must remove the stakes as the top of the fountain is not supposed to come off.
