A:  and the water splatter is nothing the birds love it

A:  No, you only use 1 gallon of distilled water and the bottom bowl is sufficient to hold that much water.

A:  It does splatter some. Part of the reason is that it is nearly impossible to get it level. Where the basin screws onto the pedestal is wonky so you have to place items under the bottom to try to level. You can adjust the water level so it is not so forceful.

A:  I would say very difficult because the power cord goes down the inside of the pedestal. You would have to dismantle the fountain, cut the sealing compound out, remove the cord and pump, run the new cord down the pedestal and re-seal it.

A:  I've been using this wonderful fountain for more than 5 years. I replaced no pump! It works very well.

A:  Yes, this comes with the electric cord and it has 3 prong plug.

A:  If the water gets too warm, the pump will cavitate and the bubbles will stop the water flow. Flowing water does tend to be cooler than the air. We've had a couple days over 100F, but our fountain is in the shade. We had to add water every day though.

A:  I have been using this beautiful fountain in all summer time in Detroit in the last 3 years, nothing happened. But I think they said that due to the high temp may evaporate the water then hurt the pump. Just pay attention to the level of the water 2 times a day when it is 90 F or more.
